It sounds like she may have received threats for some of her views or positions.  Refugees have become a hot, divisive issue and she is the Special Envoy and long-time advocate.  So is climate change which was the subject of her last op-ed in Time.  Threats are a cheap replacement for debate and are rather common these days.  She also received threats after she did In the Land of Blood and Honey.  She revealed her experience with Harvey Weinstein to the NY Times and he may have been an earlier source of threats or intimidation.
She is unbridled pursuing those issues, but one thing she has remained tight lipped about are the family matters of the last 3 years.  Like Brad, she has made it known she will not be discussing them nor answering personal questions.  In the absence of direct comments from them, anything they say that could be linked to what happened is being twisted and misinterpreted to fill the void.
