June 10, Thursday

Visiting Jonny Lee Miller

She brought wine with her as is typical for a dinner guest -- but she may not have stayed for dinner.   The tabs and paps said she stayed for 3 hours -- from 7:30 to 10:30 -- but the photo of her leaving the building showed there was still sunlight outside and sunset in NY on June 10 was 8:27PM.  She may have arrived much earlier and left around 8.

They acted quickly to shoot down tabloid stories which they surely knew would crop up.  People (with Mary Green, whose recent repeat involvement may mean something -- or nothing at all) reports that Knox and Miller's son are friends and they were also present that night.  The tabs and paps tried to sell a salacious story and for that reason, they may purposely ignore Knox even if photos of him entering the building exist.  His presence ruins their narrative.

The paps and tabs are manipulating the dates and not coordinating with each other.  P6 claimed this dinner as well as her stroll through Red Hook took place Friday, June 11 -- but DM, Weibo and other sites date her appearances in Brooklyn to Thursday, June 10.  DM said photos taken at the TSA line as they were departing through JFK were from Thursday, June 10, but then gave conflicting claims on when the dinner took place.  In one report it said  Angelina "ventured out Thursday to Red Hook" and "Jolie's day in the borough also included a visit to her ex-husband Jonny Lee Miller's Dumbo apartment later that night."  But in another post DM said the dinner took place Friday, June 11 or the day after their earlier post claimed she and the kids left NYC.  The most logical dates, and the ones posted by sites like Weibo not trying to manipulate a story, are Thursday, June 10 for her Brooklyn tour and Friday, June 11 for their departure.

DM next altered the story to claim she stayed the whole night and shifted the dinner to Saturday as DM tried to entice clicks on photos of Jonny out Sunday morning.  Paps and tabloids are totally without any shame.

She wore a different outfit for each appearance and it seems unlikely that she went back to their upper east side hotel to change as each roundtrip could take more than hour.  She may have simply changed in their blacked-out SUV.  Her hair looked flat and stringy by the time she toured Red Hook and visited Jonny.  She was much better coiffed and made up at the airport.

Reflection on the right door shows some street sunlight.  That door was cropped out of succeeding photos.

There is obviously still quite a bit of sunlight when she left.  This photo was not widely available and I only found it on Weibo.

She wore the new mask to give the shop a boost knowing she was being followed by paps.  Used her old mask when she had dinner at Jonny's.

June 10, Thursday

Red Hook, Brooklyn

"Ventured out Thursday to Red Hook, a neighborhood known for its edgy independent art galleries" where she “visited a handful of small art galleries”  "And Jolie's day in the borough also included a visit to her ex-husband Jonny Lee Miller's Dumbo apartment."

It looked like she could have a new tattoo on her left front shoulder behind her strap but other photos show her shoulder to be bare.

Stars Celebrate Earth Day: How Queen Latifah, Angelina Jolie and Others Save the Planet

Our exclusive One-on-one interviews with Angelina Jolie, Queen Latifah, Courtney Thorne Smith and more

Queen Latifah has the best natural beauty tip from her grandmother
Queen Latifah is a beauty who knows about respecting the planet. This isn't a new cause.
"I like to wash my face with baking soda right out of the box," she says. "My grandmother told me to do it."
Biodegradable beauty secrets? Yes, Hollywood is jumping on the Earth Day bandwagon and getting eco-chic.

STARS PRACTICE EARTH DAY EVERY SINGLE DAY
Stars like Angelina Jolie tell me that she's teaching her kids to make simple steps when it comes to saving our world.
"We're always recycling and turning off lights," she says. "It's important to ask your kids, 'What can we do today to help the earth because our resources won't be here forever."
Regina Hall who stars in the new movie, "Think Like A Man" says that recycling means a lot to her. "I'm completely interested in saving our planet," she says. "I always recycle. And I buy organic. "I try to limit my showers to five minutes or less," she says.
"That's a simple tip that all of us can start practicing today that will save so much of a precious resource - water."
"And I drive a Prius," says Hall who is combining her acting talents with helping others go green.
"I'm working with a friend. He wrote a book on saving the planet. We're working on a project about making people more conscious about being green.
"I think a lot of people were ignorant about it. Now, collectively people are making it difficult not to be aware."
Hunky Jason Statham who stars in the new film "Safe" says that Hollywood sets are much more conscious about doing their part.
"On sets actors will recycle their scripts," he says. "It's doing our part."
Courtney Thorne Smith says one of her favorite secrets is to make sure to never use those plastic grocery bags that clog up landfills.
"It's one thing to say that you'll use your own canvas bag, but we're human. We forget. What I like to do is unpack my canvas bag then I put the bag on the doorknob of the door we use to leave the house. It's a great way to get that canvas bag back into the car for the next time you need to use it.
"That way you'll never need to use those plastic store bags," she says.
Busy Mom Jenna Elfman says that you don't have to plug in to keep your children entertained.
"I like to insist that we take a family walk with the dog," she says. "It's good for our bodies and good for the environment if we don't depend on fun that requires plugging in. I don't have the TV on at all."
"If you get out there and go outside then you'll be teaching your children that the environment needs help. You'll see where trash needs to picked up. Or a park needs some work. It's being a part of your community," she says.
Shirley MacLaine lives in New Mexico and says that you should live green.
"I love going into my garden and growing vegetables and flowers. It's so much better than what you find at the grocery store - and less bags and packaging."
"There is also so much personal satisfaction from doing it yourself," she says.

NYC

The most notorious and disreputable gossip site on earth asks us to take their word for it that Angelina and family were in the darkened SUV -- one of hundreds in the city -- with nothing more to back up their story.

Sure.

What service! Angelina and her brood grab a quick bite from a New York hot dog vendor!

NY Sunset

Source: kinerific on Flickr

Manhattanhenge, July 2011

The sunset in Manhattan aligns perfectly with the East/West avenues. This July, about 100 photographers crowded a tiny overpass to capture the event. This picture was taken from Tudor City Place, looking west down 42nd Street past the Chrysler Building on the right, Grand Central Station further down, and Times Square waaaay at the end.

Taken just before the sun completely came into view. Version with more "starburst" posted below.

Update: Explored! #29 on July 14, 2011

This photo was taken on July 12, 2011 in Tudor City, New York, NY, US, using a Canon EOS 40D.

Dark Clouds, not a movie

In what looks like a scene from a disaster movie, photographers in the NYC area captured the approaching storm clouds. Top photo, view looking downtown, bottom, view over Central Park.
