'He's my family. He's not just a lover and partner, which he is, wonderfully, but he's my family now,'

'We have history and work hard to make it great,' she says. 'We don't kind of relax about it and take each other for granted. Like everybody, we have our challenges, but we're fighting to make it great.'

With rumours continuing to build momentum that the couple will team up on the big screen, the actress and director confirmed that they will both appear in a new project that she's written.

'I really can't say very much, except that it's not a big movie and it's not an action movie,' she begins. 'It's the kind of movie we both kind of love but aren't often cast in.

'It's a very experimental, independent type film where we get to just be actors together and be really raw and open and try things.'

Despite talk that the Oscar-winner will soon quit acting altogether to focus on directing, she insists that time has not yet come and her movie with Brad, 50, will not be her last acting role.

'No. I'm getting down there. I think at some point it will be,' she says. 'I love directing. Unbroken was really just one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had working with film.'

Talking about her latest role, in which she plays the dastardly title character in Disney's Maleficent, the star revealed her children now greet her with her with the catchphrase, 'Well, well'.

'My kids meet me with that when I walk in the door now,' she laughs. 'Knoxy loves it, and then Knoxy tries to see if everybody else can do it. He tells Dad he can't do it!'

Exclusive: Angelina Jolie Drops Clue about Getting Married

In an "Extra" exclusive interview in Sarajevo, Angelina Jolie hints to Jerry Penacoli she may finally be ready to marry Brad Pitt.
Pitt and Jolie once said they would get married only when everyone would have an equal right to unite in matrimony. Penacoli brought up that Prop 8 had been overturned in California, so are she and Brad any closer? Angelina smiled, "Maybe."


The kids might also be a contributing factor to a Brangelina wedding. "They figured out what marriage is now, they're old enough so now they kind of like the idea of it," said Jolie. "But we're still convinced that half of them just want to party." Penacoli was the only U.S. reporter invited by Angelina for a special screening of the Bosnian-themed "In the Land of Blood and Honey." Jolie was moved to tears by the film's great response from the once war-torn city. "I didn't know how they were going to react because I know it's very hard for them to watch," said Jolie. "It's an artistic interpretation of their lives, so when I walked in and they stood up, it means everything." Pitt and their six children were there to share in her special moment. The actress said the kids love to travel. "When we say we're going somewhere, they pack their own bags. They are the first ones lined up at the door. They love it, thank God, because that's what they're stuck with. They are great travelers. They love it." Angelina explained that the children are also learning new languages. "They're all learning French, that's their second language. But a few of them have begun to learn their native language. Pax speaks Vietnamese, Maddox is learning a little Khmer and we're working on Zahara." She added, laughing, "Then they're going to be able to hide a lot from mommy and daddy."


In part two of "Extra's" exclusive interview with Angelina Jolie in Sarajevo, the actress reminisced about her late mother, who would've been so proud of her film, "In the Land of Blood and Honey."

Jolie's mom, Marcheline Bertrand, died in 2007 of ovarian cancer, and Angie recalled, "She lived a beautiful life. She was nothing but gracious and kind and she was proud at the end of her life when we talked about different things she wasn't able to do. She didn't have the acting career she wanted. She didn't have the writing career she wanted."

The 36-year-old added, "And she had absolutely no regrets because she was happy to be a mother."

Angelina Jolie on Meeting Obama and 'Salt 2'

Before the Golden Globes on Sunday night, Angelina Jolie chatted with "Extra's" Jerry Penacoli at the Golden Globe Foreign Language Film Panel Discussion in Hollywood. Jolie, 36, was nominated in the Best Foreign Film category for her love story, "In the Land of Blood and Honey."

The first-time director talked about meeting President Obama with Brad, saying, "We met on different issues. He went mainly to speak with Biden about New Orleans, and I went with the lead actress [of "Blood and Honey"] to speak about Sarajevo and our concerns with things going on."

Jolie continued the meeting with Mr. Obama, "was wonderful."

When asked if she planned on making sequel to "Salt," with CIA Director David Petraeus, the mom of six replied, "No, [but] he and I met in the field, actually, years ago. He's always been very forthcoming with me about information and teaching me about what's really happening. He doesn't belittle me, he talks to me, and he helps me then do better work."

Speaking of her work in "Blood and Honey," a fired-up Jolie beamed, "The cast members are here from all different parts of Yugoslavia, and they are so excited, and so, I feel like the country's here with me. It means a lot."

Jolie talked about revealing her emotional moment on a recent webcast, while she worked on the film, saying, "I had a breakdown. Me collapsing is crying. You just sit under the hot shower and you cry and you cry, and you just don't know what you can do."

Angie gushed at how honored she was at her nomination, saying, "You make your first film and you just hope you don't completely fail at everything you intended to do, and I was so nervous about the politics, being received well, and then this, was just something none of us expected."

Exclusive! Brad Would Work with Director Angelina 'In a Second!'

Director/writer Angelina Jolie stepped on the red carpet for the L.A. premiere of "In the Land of Blood and Honey" with two important men in her life; dad Jon Voight and, of course, Brad Pitt.

Brad spoke exclusively to "Extra's" Jerry Penacoli, revealing he would love for Jolie to direct him in a film, saying he'd work with her "in a second!"
When Jerry revealed this to Jolie, the beautiful first-time director gushed, "Well, you know, I'd be extremely lucky to. He's one of my favorite actors! He's so extraordinary, so I'd be lucky, but still shy. I'd be shy to give him direction," adding, "We'll talk about it tonight."
Jolie on Making "Blood and Honey" Personal
Brad, looking extra cool in his black-framed glasses, seemed to enjoy the attention Jolie was receiving, and beamed, "I am very proud." The actor gave some insight on reading the "Blood and Honey" script in its early stages, explaining it was a nice way to return the favor to Jolie. "Well, I always try my stuff out on her. It's one of the joys of being with someone who does what you do."

Jolie told Penacoli, "I still can't get my head around that this... could be a career for me. I have been working on something dealing with Afghanistan and it's hidden in my room, so maybe I'll have the guts to show it to somebody soon." The last time Angelina Jolie met with "Extra" correspondent Jerry Penacoli, she admitted she was a "closet geek." This time, the star revealed, "I spend hours and hours to get the perfect Christmas stocking or gift bag ready."

The family woman continued, "I am obsessive... Brad will tell you I lose my mind for the kids' birthday parties. I will spend days working on gift bags! That's an oddity about me."
Jolie invited Penacoli exclusively to join her for a special New York City screening of her new film, "In the Land of Blood and Honey," hosted by Marie Claire magazine.

"Extra's" Jerry Penacoli sat down with busy mom Angelina Jolie to discuss her directorial debut with "In the Land of Blood and Honey" in NYC. Angie's new drama, which takes a powerful look at war-torn Bosnia in the '90s, centers on a man who falls for a beautiful prisoner.

Check out these four interesting facts about Angelina that were uncovered during the interview.
1. After showing Brad her script, they had "this idea we'll send it to people from all different sides of the conflict without my name on it, and if they agree to come together to do it, then we'll make it, and if they don't, we'll burn it."
2. Jolie was quite taken with directing, and says if she had to choose between that and acting, she "would love to be a director."
3. Angie says most people would probably not know "that I'm a closet geek in what I read and what I am."
4. Between her six children and traveling the world, Angelina revealed she started writing the script during Shiloh's art class, "and spent most of my time on my little notepads."
Jolie explained, "It didn't start out with me wanting to direct a movie. It started with me interested in these subject matters. So the script was a private exercise for me that I never intended to show anybody, and then I ended up showing Brad and he said, 'You know, Honey, it's not bad.'"

The stars of "Kung Fu Panda 2," Jack Black and megastar mom Angelina Jolie, sat down with "Extra" at the 64th Annual Cannes Film Festival to talk about the film, tattoos and having more children. Jolie, who has six kids, added to her famous tattoo that shows the latitude and longitude of each child's birthplace.

Does the new tattoo mean she will adopt again? Jolie replied, "Well if they know that it's latitude and longitude they would have figured out quickly that it was Brad's birthplace." She added, "It doesn't take much investigation to figure that one out. It's Shawnee, Oklahoma."

Angie had mentioned a decade ago to "Extra," she wanted enough kids to be able to put together a football team. This was before she adopted her first child, Maddox. When we reminded her of it, Jolie responded, "I'm on my way," but there is no possibility of adopting "at this time."

The actress stars as Tigress in the animated "Kung Fu Panda 2." Both Angelina and Jack said their kids have seen the film, which deals with subject of adoption, and Jolie said, "They laughed out loud hysterically through the whole thing and they just loved it, and then I was serious-mom-in-the-car and said, 'Does anyone have any questions?'"

The actress said her children did not ask about the adoption part because "we talk very openly in our house, so orphanage, birth parents, are happy words in our house, and it's not a thing. I think they felt more connected to Po [the panda] and they identified with Po, who they think is very cool. It seemed very normal and they loved it."

Black, who makes his return as the lovable Po, talked about his two sons, Sammy and Tommy. Like his co-star, he will probably not be adding to his brood anytime soon. "The lady says, 'No mas.' They've been a handful, these two boys. I don't know how you do it (turning to Jolie). But you never say never."

Jack revealed he will perform on the season finale of "American Idol" the day before "Kung Fu Panda 2" opens in theaters, later on this month. He dished about singing with "Idol" finalist Casey Abrams, who Black described as "inspirational, super confident and relaxed. I'm kind of in awe of this kid."
