"I can confirm that, yes, Robert Procop did indeed design an engagement ring for Angelina Jolie, designed in collaboration with Brad Pitt," a rep for the couple's longtime jeweler Robert Procop said in a statement.
Procop acquired "a diamond of the finest quality which was then transformed using Pitt's unique designs, cut with distinctive faceting to a shape and size that perfectly suits Angelina's long, slender fingers," the rep explained.
"Throughout, Brad Pitt remained heavily involved, overseeing every aspect of the creative design process from the perfect cut of the diamond centerpiece - an elongated tablet shape - to the finishing touches such as the mounting of a galaxy of smaller stones which are graduated in size and faceted to match, adding a crowning lustre to the ring."
"Brad had a specific vision for this ring, which he realized over a yearlong collaboration. He wanted every aspect of it to be perfect, so I was able to locate a diamond of the finest quality and cut it to an exact custom size and shape to suite Angelina's hand. Brad was always heavily involved, overseeing every aspect of the creative design evolution. The side diamonds are specially cut to encircle her finger. Each diamond is of the highest gem quality."
"The full creative journey - from conception to completion - took a year, with Brad Pitt waiting until the perfect moment to unveil this special jewel to Angelina Jolie," Procop's spokeswoman said in a statement on Friday.
"Yes, it's confirmed. It is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy. There's no date set at this time. Brad designed the ring." Pitt's manager Cynthia Pett-Dante.

Who is Robert Procop? He's about to be a household name, we predict.
The Beverly Hills jeweler and former CEO of Asprey & Garrard, the British jewelry company to the English royal family, confirms to The Hollywood Reporter that he has designed an engagement ring for Angelina Jolie. A rep for the jeweler says, "I can confirm that, yes, Robert Procop did indeed design an engagement ring for Angelina Jolie, designed in collaboration with Brad Pitt."
On Friday afternoon, Pitt's manager, Cynthia Pett-Dante, told THR: "Yes, it's confirmed. It is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy. There's no date set at this time. Brad designed the ring."
Jolie was seen wearing the ring two nights ago, April 11, at a private viewing of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's Chinese Galleries. She attended the small gathering with Pitt as well as their son Pax.
Procop tells THR: "Brad had a specific vision for this ring, which he realized over a yearlong collaboration.
It makes sense that Procop was the designer who created the ring with Pitt. Procop's "The Style of Jolie" jewelry collection on his website was designed with the star, and she's worn a multitude of his pieces on the red carpet, including to this year's Producers Guild Awards. The first funds from Procop's collaboration with Jolie have been dedicated to the Education Partnership for Children in Conflict to build a school in Afghanistan. Procop also created pieces of jewelry for Jolie for The Tourist.
When Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan stepped out for the L.A. premiere of The Avengers for the first time since the Feb. 7 birth of their son, Downey told the press he and his wife were wearing amethyst jewelry from Procop in honor of their son's birthstone. Downey also wore a purple Gucci suit, and the couple joked that they were bringing a little bit of their new son Exton with them.
News of the engagement should come as no surprise to readers of The Hollywood Reporter. In January, Pitt told THR that he and Jolie did hope to one day tie the knot for the sake of their children.
“We’d actually like to,” he said of making Jolie his wife, “and it seems to mean more and more to our kids. We made this declaration some time ago that we weren’t going to do it till everyone can. But I don’t think we’ll be able to hold out. It means so much to my kids, and they ask a lot. And it means something to me, too, to make that kind of commitment.”
At the time, Pitt declined to comment on whether he had proposed yet. “I’m not going to go any further,” he said, “But to be in love with someone and be raising a family with someone and want to make that commitment and not be able to is ludicrous, just ludicrous.”

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie haven’t set a wedding date yet, but their engagement “is a promise for the future,” Pitt’s manager, Cynthia Pett-Dante, said in an email Friday.
Pitt, 48, and Jolie, 36, have six children together. “Their kids are very happy,” Pett-Dante also said.
Family members are happy too, Brad’s brother, Doug Pitt, told the Springfield News-Leader.
“I would just say, Angie has been family from day one. This doesn’t change anything there. We are excited for them and the kids and the family. It’s a great step and one we are glad to see happen.”
Doug also said a date has not been set. When it is, he doubts his brother’s wedding will happen in Springfield.
He loves Springfield,” Doug said, “but I don’t know that it will make it to the top of the list.”
Wherever it does occur, “I’m looking forward to it,” the Springfield businessman said.
Jeweler Robert Procop worked with Pitt to design the ring. A news release describes it as featuring a long diamond amid a “galaxy of smaller stones.” It took a year to design.
The A-list celebrities have been partners since they began a relationship in 2005 while working on the film “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.”
Already megawatt superstars in their own right, the romantic pairing of Pitt and Jolie instantly made them Hollywood’s most glamorous and photographed couple. The fact that Pitt was still married to Jennifer Anniston when he met Jolie only added to the tabloid fodder; Pitt and Aniston divorced in 2005 after five years of marriage.
As the couple dubbed “Brangelina” added to their family over the years through the adoption and birth of their children, the question always swirled as to when — or whether — the two would ever wed.
For some time, it seemed as if they might not. They often spoke about how they were comfortable without an official arrangement, and Pitt famously said he didn’t want to get married until all people — including gays — had the same right.
Jolie was briefly married to Billy Bob Thornton, but they divorced in 2003. She was also married to British actor Jonny Lee Miller before they divorced in 1999.
Jolie won an Oscar for her role in 1999’s “Girl, Interrupted.” Pitt was recently nominated for an Academy Award for his role in last year’s “Moneyball.”

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt went to an event at the Los Angeles
County Museum Of Art with their son Pax earlier this week. And she was
wearing a new ring. Robert Procop, a jeweller who has collaborated in
the past with the Jolie, has confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter, that it was indeed an engagement that he designed with Brad Pitt:
"I can confirm that, yes, Robert Procop did indeed design an engagement ring for Angelina Jolie, designed in collaboration with Brad Pitt. Brad had a specific vision for this ring, which he realized over a yearlong collaboration.
This Procop dude seems super eager and forthcoming with the information, non? I mean, I would too if I were him and had that opportunity but I’d never go rogue and jeopardise my relationship with my clients for some attention cycle that would inevitably be a lot shorter than any ongoing partnership with Hollywood’s most intriguing couple. Which says to me that he had the Brange’s blessing, that it may even have been their plan, to go ahead and announce their engagement to the entire world.
The entire world?
Please.
I got off the plane and my blackberry exploded along with the rest of the internet.
ANGELINA JOLIE AND BRAD PITT ARE GETTING MARRIED!!!
Finally...?
They’ve been hinting at it for months. And for their children. Almost as though it’s a gift to them because, as both have mentioned, their children have been asking for it. Which...I’m not a parent but even I find that very, very sweet. And incredibly romantic. That when they grow up they can say to themselves, looking back at the photos, that their parents married for them. (And totally not to stick it to Jennifer Aniston.)
As for when and where, well, they’ve been watching the activity going down at the Brange’s French chateau for a while now and every few weeks or so there’s a report that a wedding will take place there imminently. Come Brangelunatics, if they do it there in May, when the Cannes Film Festival is happening, with thousands of journalists in attendance not too far away, then can we call them the ultimate Fame Game players? They say Pitt’s Killing Them Softly (previously titled Cogan’s Trade) will most likely be at the festival marking yet another Croisette appearance for the Brange. That would certainly make it convenient for the media. We can cover the movie AND the wedding on the same trip without extra expense! The Brange is so considerate.
Or perhaps they’ll let the wedding fever build, especially if Killing Them Softly can contend during award season. It’s currently scheduled for release on September 21, almost exactly a year after Moneyball. He made a run for it with Moneyball. If he makes a run for it with Softly, why not push it along with a wedding?
Nonsense. They would never be so calculating.
But can we get a better look at that ring? So we can compare it to the ugly ass sh-t Justin Timberlake put together for Jessica Biel? Wouldn’t it be great if the Brange wedding happened on the same day as Pippy’s and no one cared about Pippy’s as a result?
