July 20

London Gala screening.

I recall that Angelina referred to Brad in a note to her assistant as "b. "  I thought at the time it was just shorthand but apparently that's what she really calls him.

From the morning photocall

We finally have several clear close ups of the new ring.   Must be his own design.  It's done with a single line, similar in concept to his Mo Ganji tattoos

The design is woven by a continuous, unbroken line starting from the stem with curved points.  It threads around forming intertwined letters P, then A and then B.  The initial stem with 2 points could be a J.  Viewed with the A bisecting vertically, the two halves of the central design are symmetrical with the stylized A and B woven together.  To achieve perfect symmetry at the center, the stem of the B was left extended to account for the space occupied by the top of the P on the right.  The J was given 2 points also for symmetry.  The interior is oxidized so the design can be better seen.

First seen when he started wearing rings on his left ring finger, the symbolism and message are unmistakable.  He has worn this ring on his left ring finger but it's usually been the bee ring there as seen above.

Brad Pitt has it made in the shade!
To add some flair to his classic black tuxedo and crisp white dress shirt, the 48-year-old actor strolled the red carpet at the Killing Them Softly screening in Cannes, France on Tuesday sporting Sama Eyewear's $1,250 frames.

The luxe aviator-style sunglasses, which are made from 100 percent pure titanium, feature mirrored lenses that are vapor coated in pure 18k rose gold. The style, called "Black Onyx," is also available in yellow gold, platinum and kohl.

This isn't the expensive sunnies' first tinseltown appearance; Pitt debuted the pair in his Oscar-nominated flick Moneyball.

At the screening's after party sponsored by Johnnie Walker Blue Label, Pitt, who got engaged to his partner of seven years Angelina Jolie in April, took off his shades and kicked back for a "pre-bachelor party" where he was joined by Chris Tucker, P.Diddy and his costar Ray Liotta. At the mostly-male fete, the group enjoyed cigars and $390 bottles of Johnnie Walker whisky.
