Maddox is no longer wearing the gold ring he had on his right middle finger during the White House reception.  She has two gold rings on her right ring finger.  She may or may not have been wearing a band at the White House but this band would have been unmistakably visible.

Angelina Jolie and her son Maddox will be among the 200 guests joining President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden at the White House on Wednesday for a state dinner honoring the president of South Korea.

A White House official confirmed to DailyMail.com that the actress and her oldest son will be in attendance.
Maddox apparently arrived separately.

Angelina Jolie and daughter Zahara Jolie-Pitt concluded a two-day visit to Washington, D.C. on Wednesday after meeting with lawmakers to advocate for the passage of the Justice for All Reauthorization Act of 2022, which aims to protect crime victims.

In addition to creating a new crime victims' right to evidence and agency reports, the measure aims to improve forensic science, end the rape kit backlog, and address racial disparities in wrongful convictions that persist in America's criminal legal system.

A source close to the actress and humanitarian told PEOPLE that Jolie and her daughter spent the trip meeting with members of Congress and the White House to discuss a new provision in the legislation, which would give crime victims access to crime reports and evidence of their abuse.

"Currently, there's no method within the federal government that provides crime victims with a right of access to their own records of crimes they experienced and reported," Jolie, a longtime advocate for refugees through her work with the United Nations, told lawmakers.

She continued: "This is an issue across the country. Survivors need their records of reporting crimes they or their children experienced to advocate for health and trauma care and for safety protections in family court."

Jolie added that "access to these records should be a right for all families."

In photos from the visit, the Academy Award winner and her daughter can be seen meeting with Patrick Leahy, one of the bill's sponsors, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.

The source told PEOPLE the actress also met with members of the White House Gender Policy Council about legislative priorities ahead of this week's launch of the U.S. Strategy to Prevent and Respond to Gender-Based Violence and also attended Tuesday's signing of the Respect for Marriage Act.

"I was honored to attend this historic and joyous bill signing for a law that ensures dignity and safety for LGBTQ and interracial couples and families," Jolie told PEOPLE in a statement. "While in DC advocating on issues concerning abuse with those who've been affected, Zahara and I were glad to also celebrate love and the security the Respect for Marriage Act provides."

Zahara — who began attending Spelman College in the fall — has joined her mom on previous visits to D.C. to advocate for issues including the Violence Against Women Act.

Jolie has also previously advocated in the capital for the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act and the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act — part of her decades-long record of global advocacy for the health and protection of children and families.

Spotted (again and again): Angelina Jolie dining at modern Indian restaurant Rasika.

The “Eternals” actor can’t seem to get enough of restaurateur Ashok Bajaj’s tony dining room tucked away in West End—a VIP favorite frequented by the Clintons and Obamas. Her most recent visit on Wednesday night—accompanied by eight guests—was one of many, including a dinner just last month. Representatives of the restaurant say Jolie has visited at least three times in recent memory—which, given her out-of-town Hollywood status, basically makes her a regular.

Jolie is in Washington more than your average mega-star thanks to her humanitarian work with UN refugee services and advocacy for environmental and anti-violence causes. On Wednesday, she was present at the White House as President Biden signed the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act. The Academy Award winner has been a vocal proponent of the legislation.

Jolie isn’t exactly living it up when she dines out, according to sources at the restaurant. When she visited in February with six female dining companions, Jolie purportedly sipped mineral water in a downstairs private room and “didn’t eat much.” She sampled two must-try classics from James Beard Award-winning chef Vikram Sunderam: crispy spinach palak chaat and black cod.

Says the source: “She was professionally dressed in black. People didn’t even recognize her.”

WASHINGTON - Angelina Jolie came to Washington, D.C. Tuesday to promote her new film “In the Land of Blood and Honey”, which was set against the backdrop of the Bosnian War.
Jolie stayed behind the camera serving as writer and director of the movie, which tells the story of two Bosnians from different sides of a brutal ethnic conflict.
The premiere was held at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and was co-sponsored by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
Earlier in the evening, Jolie sat down with FOX 5's Will Thomas to talk about what motivated her to create the project and how it came to light with the help of her partner, Brad Pitt, who also attended the D.C. premiere.

Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Attend Special Screening Of Jolie's Film At Holocaust Museum In Washington

WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- More than 30 million people have walked through the doors of the Holocaust Museum since it opened in 1993. But very few of those visitors received the attention lavished Tuesday night on one of Hollywood's most closely-followed couples.
Angelina Jolie and husband Brad Pitt came to a special screening at the Holocaust Museum of "In the Land of Blood and Honey," Jolie's first attempt at writing and directing a major film.
The two-hour movie explores the effect of the Bosnian war on a Serb and a Muslim who were involved romantically. Jolie said that it was a difficult film to make because of the extremely emotional subject matter, but a film she was proud to make, to shed light on the devastating effect of the Bosnian war on the Bosnian people.
"Not only did I fall in love with the people and the place but I also felt that their story needed to be told on a bigger level," Jolie said.

She is the mother-of-six and has a busy Hollywood career, so it is not unusual for Angelina Jolie to look somewhat exhausted from time to time.
But over the last couple of nights - as the actress stepped out for two red-carpet occasions - she has looked remarkably refreshed.
Tonight the 36-year-old's complexion was particularly flawless with barely a line or wrinkle in sight as she attended a screening of her directorial debut In the Land of Blood and Honey at the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington.

Simply glowing, the raven-haired beauty was picture perfect as she arrived on the arm of long term partner Brad Pitt, wearing a full length grey cashmere coat to keep her toasty from the cold conditions.
Underneath it appeared that she was wearing a nude dress and she paired the look with some shimmering gold Christian Louboutin stilettos.
As always, the ever-so-stylish star accessorised the look with some simple yet chic jewellery consisting of a pair of large pearl earrings.
Fresh-faced: Her complexion was far more luminous than it was back in April this year when she attended a show at a theater in Los Angeles

Boyfriend Brad was still hobbling around on his walking stick, but of course looked dashing in a three-piece navy suit nonetheless.
He also wore a crisp white shirt, navy tie and shiny black shoes to polish off the look.
The chic couple were joined by stars of Angelina's directorial debut actors Zana Marjanovic and Goran Kostic.

The actress's conservative choice of attire was a far-cry different from her appearance at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards on Monday night.
The stunning star stole the spotlight away from Brad on the night he was actually nominated for an award.
The Oscar-winning actress wowed in a tight-fitting leather skirt which managed to make her look both slim and elegant.
Dashing duo: As always the pair were the epitome of a chic and sophisticated couple

She paired the ferocious piece with a simple white silk shirt, classic black heels and a chic black clutch.
Her only concessions to colour were the emeralds that shimmered at her throat and her ears.
The actress once again arrived hand-in-hand with Pitt.
His accessory of a cane is certainly far less glamorous than Angelina's gorgeous ensembles, though far more necessary.

Brad is said to be recovering from a torn medial collateral ligament, an injury sustained after a fall on a ski slope last week.
The actor broke out the cane over the weekend at the 23rd Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala.
The actor told reporters he suffered an injury after falling over on a ski slope while holding onto one of the couple's twins.

He was honoured at the ceremony with the Desert Palm Achievement Award which noted his acting skills in Moneyball and The Tree of Life.
Perhaps winning another award at Monday night's ceremony will lessen the pain of his injury.
The actor appears to be on somewhat of a winning streak and last night scooped the Best Actor gong for his work in Moneyball and The Tree of Life.

Angelina's film in The Land of Blood and Honey revolves around a Muslim woman named Aija (Marjanovic)who falls in love with Serbian Daniijel (Kostic).
In the unlikely love story, which opened in American theatres last December, Daniijel inadvertently becomes Aija's jailer when the Bosnians are captured by the Serbs.
In a recent interview with USA Today, Angelina talked about her movie, which is set in 1990s war-torn Bosnia.
'I’ve always been drawn to war films,' she said.  'I did love directing. If I’m allowed, if I’m accepted, I will do it again. I am still very shy about it.'
