In 2008, Jolie told W that mother took her to get her first daggers when she was just 11 or 12 years old, adding that she had already purchased then-7-year-old son Maddox his own set.
Though her latest artwork may not bear any connection to her ex, Jolie still does have some permanent tributes to Pitt on her body; in addition to matching quotes from the poet Rumi, the two actors have coordinating Buddhist tattoos that were drawn from the same vial of ink to symbolize their bond.
While Mr. K has worked with other celebrities, not many are at the clickbait level of Angelina and Brad. If he had followed coverage of them more closely he would have known better.
Tattoos on palms and fingers fade very quickly. They're notoriously difficult to make given space and shape constraints and there are not many artists who can or want to do them. Mr K made numerous finger tattoos for Lewis Hamitlon and some look similar. It is certainly a possibility that she was inspired to get finger tattoos after seeing Hamilton's (during prep for F1, of course).
Two very similar but different daggers.
This isn't the first photo with the blur removed. It is an entirely different photo from what he originally posted. Based on her dress and shoes in the photos, she apparently got her Mr. K tattoos on Aug. 18. She threw on a black coat in lieu of the blazer she was photographed wearing.
Missing the forest for the trees. It's not the tattoos, it's the two diamond bands.
New tattoo #1
It does not appear to be Mr. K's work. Aside from the fact that it doesn't look like his designs, he would have mentioned it in his post if he worked on a 3rd tattoo. Above photo taken May 21.
She could have had tattoo # 1 embellished by Mr. K with his signature fine line flourishes. But she apparently wanted the simple design exactly that way. That is a clue on what it is supposed to be.
The end points are rounded. They are meant to be lines. The horizontal line bisects the 4 center numbers of Brad's still faintly visible coordinates; it does not cover its full width. The short vertical line aligns with and is as wide as the space between the longitude and latitude coordinates of the kids. At their intersection, the horizontal and vertical lines are mirror images
Looking at its design, its placement within the frame of geographical coordinates, and the way it was apparently designed to complement the coordinates, what seems a likely candidate is the prime meridian and the equator. They are the starting points of measurement, also written as 0° longitude and 0° latitude.
Whatever it is, it refers to Brad. Just as the star on Brad's wrist refers to Angelina. Whatever is in their respective spots in the family tattoos refers to them.
She undoubtedly spent much more time pondering this than when she added Brad's birth coordinates which served to effectively end speculation that they were still adding to the family. But placing his birth coordinates after the twins' throws off the progression because he isn't younger and he didn't come after. The design of the family tattoo on Brad's wrist seems more logical with Angelina occupying a different quadrant and in front of the children. Putting a similar line separating Brad's coordinates from the kids' after everything that's happened and their efforts at reinstatement was not an option.
The simplest, most accessible explanation for the intersection of the prime meridian and equator replacing Brad's coordinates is that designating him as a reference point makes more sense. The kids' relationship with him was what they had all been working on. That they now have one caps her oft-stated goal of healing their family.
Brad's coordinates looked the same as the others in candid photos taken in August, 2020
By the time of the Eternals promo tour in October, 2021 they had visibly faded to almost what they are now.
She waited until they were light enough to accommodate a new design and she was ready to have it done. His space was never empty, there was and is parts of his coordinates still visible. The same can be said of her Khmer birthdate on his abdomen.
Her two other recent tattoos were famous lines: Galileo's "eppur si muove," and Rudyard Kipling's "to the gallow's - foot - and after." Their meaning is straightforward and it's also fairly easy to see how she relates to them.
This time she opted for very simple symbols that need an explanation. The 1st in particular.
Having three very new tattoos one after another probably has a message in itself.
