It was filmed just this Spring.  His hair looks shorter than when he did the Brietling ad in mid-April so it could have been a bit earlier -- mid or late March after he shaved his beard down to a goatee.  He still had the beard in early March when he showed up at Sean Penn's book party.

Deadpool 2 pulled off a casting stunt even hard-core comic fans weren't expecting.
In the middle of the film, Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool assembles a superteam called X-Force, and its roster includes an invisible teammate known as The Vanisher. The audience never sees the character until a split-second shot in which he's electrocuted and is revealed to be played by none other than Brad Pitt.
Screenwriter Paul Wernick notes that in their original script, he and co-writers Rhett Reese and Reynolds didn't conceive of that moment including a celebrity cameo.
"We never saw Vanisher in the original script. He was always a mystery," Wernick tells Heat Vision. "When he got tangled up...we just thought, 'Oh my god, what a perfect idea for a celebrity cameo.' And then we thought, 'Who is the hardest get in Hollywood? Let's call him.'"
Reynolds reached out personally to Pitt, whose children loved the first Deadpool movie.
"He immediately said yes," recalls Wernick. "It was a pinch-me moment."
Director David Leitch had worked with Pitt for years as his stunt double on films like Ocean's Eleven and Mr. & Mrs. Smith. The star had been considered to play the time-traveling mutant Cable before Josh Brolin came aboard. The Deadpool 2 team shot Pitt's cameo over two hours in Los Angeles during postproduction in the spring.
"It was a super small window, but once we had the yes, there was never a pressure — we had a whole window of post to get it done," says Leitch. "We shot the plates for it and really just needed to get him on a green screen for a short window of time."
All but the most dedicated comic book fans likely aren't familiar with Pitt's Deadpool 2 character, who actually is a bit different in the source material.
For one thing, the Vanisher doesn’t look anything like Pitt. For another, his power isn’t even invisibility in the comics: it’s teleportation. Despite all of this, Telford Porter — yes, Telly Porter, you read that right — is nonetheless a character with a storied place in comic book history.

For the Deadpool 2 team, Pitt's involvement shows how far the franchise has come since the original. The film also pulled off brief cameos from Matt Damon and Alan Tudyk, who played the men Cable meets when he first travels back in time.
"The first Deadpool, we got a lot of noes. In this one, we got a lot of yeses," says Wernick. "So it was a real treat to have more toys to play with in the sandbox. The premium toy being the Brad Pitt doll."

Of the original X-Force members in Deadpool 2, only three survived: Deadpool, Domino, and thanks to some time-traveling trickery, Peter. Bedlam (smashed into a bus), Zeitgeist (fed to a wood chipper), Shatterstar (turned into mush by helicopter blades), and Vanisher (electrocuted and fried to a crisp) did not fare so well, leaving an X-Force opening for Cable, played by superhero movie all-star Josh Brolin. He wasn’t the first actor to be rumored to portray the cybernetic, teddy bear-carrying mutant, though. That would be Brad Pitt, who has an extremely brief cameo in Deadpool 2 as… Vanisher.
How meta.
Pitt was “incredibly interested in the property,” according to director David Leitch (“One of the Guys Who Killed the Dog in John Wick“), but “things didn’t work out schedule-wise. He’s a fan, and we love him, and I think he would’ve made an amazing Cable.” The SE7EN star settled for a one-second appearance as Vanisher, who up to that point had been invisible, when he hits a telephone wire. Pitt agreed to the part because he’s friends with Leitch (his stunt double in Ocean’s Eleven and Fight Club) and because he and his kids love Deadpool.
“I think it was a love of Deadpool and sort of what that sort of global phenomenon that it was,” Leitch said. “And his kids loved it… When we reached out to him to be involved in the movie in some way, I think he was pretty excited to find someplace where he could help. When we landed on the Vanisher cameo, it seemed perfect for everybody.” He added that it only took “about four or five minutes” to shoot the scene, which was filmed in front of a green screen.
The cameo also continues Pitt’s war with Matt Damon, who recently appeared in Thor: Ragnarok as “Loki,” to see who can unexpectedly show up in the most random movies. Damon is forever in the lead, though, thanks to EuroTrip. And as it turns out, Damon (and Alan Tudyk) may have donned prosthetics to play one of the redneck characters that Cable encounters early in the film, but that detail has yet to be fully confirmed.

Random Fuzzy

- Deadpool 2 was filming from June to around October 2017 and Ad Astra was filming from August to November.

- The kids who loved the R-rated Deadpool were likely Maddox and Pax.  They would be the ones most excited about seeing Brad do a cameo in the film, and he did it in large part for them.


- The director Andrew Dominik apparently arrived at the U2 concert with him and lit up a cigarette as soon as he got out of their SUV.  Brad is evidently OK with Dominik smoking beside him, so long as it isn't inside the Escalade where the rest of the family may not like the lingering smell of cigarette smoke.

There was a photo last year of a Tesla with smoke wafting through the driver's window and it was claimed Brad was inside vaping while parked outside Houseago's studio.  Speaking of which it has been a while since he was last seen there.





- The Escalade ESV stretch he rode to the U2 concert appears to have been modified to provide more space for rear-facing seats.  There was no partition separating the passengers from the front seats -- you could see the outline of a headrest and daylight when his door opened, but the tint was too dark to see who was driving. 

Five years ago in his interview with Tom Junod for Esquire:

"When I met Brad Pitt the day after Easter, he was so tired that he was perhaps more reflective than usual. He had just finished a week of spring break with his family. He had camped out with them the night before on his property north of Santa Barbara, and he had woken up, he said, too early, as well as too wet. They had slept in tents, four of his six children, along with two of their friends, and then he had gotten all of them in a van and driven them down to LA."
  "I woke up way too early and way too wet. But it was really fun. Six kids — six of 'em. Including one of our young ones. Angie as well. It's a great thing, a great thing. Then we drove nine kids three hours in an Econovan. The kind you take a crew in, with bench seats. No other vehicle is big enough. There's no car we fit in as a family. Everything else holds seven, eight tops. An SUV only holds seven. And we had nine — our six and three friends. Eleven, including us. It's no frills, man. I'd love to have it all tricked out, shag carpet on all four walls. But we live in a different world. We rent our vehicles. We don't want things so identifiable because we don't want to get followed. We spend a lot of time trying to evade the paparazzi. It's a big annoyance. But everything in life's a trade-off...."

I don't recall seeing them use anything like this before.  Angelina was photographed using an Escalade last September, but it didn't look like it had been modified -- or perhaps it had not yet been modified.  It may have just been delivered hence they're very excited to use it.

- He left the U2 concert early, leaving Dominik behind.  He may have just stayed long enough to watch the band pay tribute to Chris Cornell. Angelina was in the UK with Shiloh and Knox and he was on solo Daddy duty looking after Maddox, Pax, Zahara and Vivienne.






- Per the Instagram post by her manicurist, Emi Kudo, the photos at the airport were taken two days after she had her nails done in L.A. for Maleficent 2.  Her nails are now visibly longer than usual -- the way she had them for the original Maleficent.


- They arrived at the airport without any assistant or security traveling with them.


- As noted previously, Chloe Dalton and Arminka Helic, her erstwhile closest assistants, have seen their roles drastically limited.  Even though she was in the U.K. where their J.D.H. Office is located, she did not have them join her.
