Random Fuzzy

Conversations often centered on the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike and whether it is about to resolve, a subject broached by Fincher in his speech from the stage. “We must get these supremely talented people back to work. We have to very soon,” said the director, who was introduced by Pitt, who has starred in three of Fincher’s films.

Pitt joked about the exacting standards of Fincher when shooting. “Here’s some things you will hear on a David Fincher shoot: ‘Let’s shoot this now before we all lose interest in living.’ ‘OK, we have the out-of-focus version. Now let’s try one that’s in focus.’ ‘That was shit through no fault of my own.’ And a personal fave: ‘I want you guys to enjoy yourselves, but that’s what Saturdays and Sundays are for.'” The actor went on to praise the director, saying, “Working with him, you will know what excellence feels like. His films — they’ve always challenged our sense of safety. As he says, ‘If we’re not out there juggling chainsaws, we’re doing ourselves a disservice.’” He also touted Fincher for “the countless technical advancements he’s brought in our industry,” for helping advance the careers of numerous cinematographers and for all the career advice that he’s generously given to “aspiring young directors.” Added Pitt, referring to a popular Netflix feature, “He even created the ‘Skip Intro’ button you’ll probably use tonight.”

All the official photos at the event were from Getty.  There were no photos of Brad accompanying the above articles because Getty didn't have any available.  Getty posted a photo where he can be vaguely seen behind Fincher after giving his introduction but his head was bowed, his image darkened, and he was not ID'd.

The only photos online of Brad right after the event were low-res cellphone photos taken by other attendees.  They show that Brad was much more clearly visible onstage than Getty made him appear.

This is highly unusual.  If it was a special request from Brad, there was presumably a promise to help Getty recoup the lost revenue elsewhere.  Quid pro quo.  As reporter Omid Scobie wrote previously

He had a lot to hide after September 2016.  It took a long time for him to understand the therapeutic process and what he needed to do.  While he was emotionally reeling from what he had wrought and dealing with alcohol withdrawal, his reps likely took complete charge of crisis management.  Their actions as described by Scobie could not have helped Brad's cause with the children.  Scobie states the obvious: PEOPLE will lie for a price.  They lied for Brad's team in 2016 and they're lying again for him now.

Getty isn't lying but it's very curious why all his official, hi-res photos at an event to honor one of his best friends, where he appeared onstage in a prominent role, and to benefit an institution he has long supported were suppressed.

Four days after the event, Getty posted one photo of Brad with Fincher and gala co-chair Eva Chow.

This is the 2nd fête after the César Awards ceremony last February that Brad was asked to introduce Fincher.  Brad also avoided walking the red carpet at the César Awards but Getty posted photos of him onstage.

Ines de Ramon was with him at the César Awards after-party and she was seen again at the LACMA after-party.  There was no sign of her at the LACMA gala ceremony and it appears that in both the Cesar and LACMA she only showed up at the after-party.  Aside from the photo above, Brad posed for several selfies inside the gala.

This time last year a press release via People claimed she was at the Babylon after-party, "the two mingling with guests, occasionally with their arms around each other." None of the numerous photos taken of Brad at the after-party showed anyone who looked like Ines.  No one at the after-party reported seeing them together.

A video from the LACMA after-party shows them entering while Lenny Kravitz was performing onstage.

It was dark and the floor was sloping down towards where people were gathered in front of the outdoor stage but Brad did not offer Ines his arm or otherwise try to help or guide her.  As it was in videos from other appearances notably the British Grand Prix, his hands were tucked away while they walked at times a foot or more apart.  He then strode ahead of her towards the floor, bopping to the music, without glancing back at her.  This is far from how he normally behaves (e.g. with Angelina).  But this is apparently the agreed-upon code of conduct between him and Ines.  It includes a no-touch clause.

Their actual behavior provides a counterpoint to the alternate reality they have PEOPLE print.  They invite you to draw your own conclusions --- as many including deuxmoi readers did.

The stories may be a concoction but unlike all the others, it is their concoction, not the tabloids'.  She's been around for a while.  He's not looking.  That is the message.  Especially useful in public gatherings.  Like after-parties.

Brad Pitt and Ines de Ramon are enjoying their time together.

After the pair attended LACMA’s 12th annual Art+Film Gala in Los Angeles Saturday, a source tells PEOPLE they're going strong. "They are hot and heavy," the source says, adding that the two are "very happy and very much together."

"They enjoy each other's company and had a great time at the gala together," the source adds of Pitt, 59, and de Ramon, 33.

Two sources confirmed the couple's public appearance together on Saturday night. While they did not pose for photos together, "they were super loving, laughing and joking with everyone around them," one source said.

“They seemed to be having a good time," the latter source said.

Salma's arms are not crossed.
You can see part of Salma's shiny gown in the space between her left upper arm and her body.   The slight bulge by her left shoulder is her left wrist.  Her arms are in front of her not across her body.  But she undoubtedly found Fincher's call for Hollywood to get back to work far more interesting than Brad's jokes.

Random Fuzzy

The devil is in the details.

The only info People was given was that "the pair traveled separately to France, with Pitt — who has been filming the upcoming film Wolves in New York City with George Clooney — arriving in Paris on Thursday evening (Feb. 23), while de Ramon arrived a day later" (Feb 24, the day of the Awards.)

De Ramon could have flown to NY and they could have traveled together to Paris.  It's a logical route.  The separate arrivals is reminiscent of their appearance at the Bono concert and the December birthday dinner where they arrived or left separately.

The other curious point is: why, of all the info they could give, the fact that they arrived separately was what they wanted to share.

He did not have her accompany him to the Globes where he was a nominee and they were both in L.A.  He skipped the red carpet and showed up inside with Cynthia Pett Dante.

De Ramon was glammed up and unlike almost all the other women who were dressed for the Paris winter, wore a shiny, skimpy outfit more suited for the summer. Stars often make that sacrifice for the red carpet -- but Brad and Ines did not walk the carpet.  In fact, they did not pose for any photos together.  He posed alone or with other people but not with her.  There is no question she would have wanted to be seen, she posted a selfie in her gown.  There was no one around to take a photo of and for her.

Babylon was nominated for Ensemble Cast in a Motion Picture by the SAG and the Awards show was two days after César on Feb.26.  He had plenty of time to make it and he was headed to L.A. anyway as he was seen filming Wolfs in L.A.'s Chinatown on Feb. 28 -- but he skipped SAG altogether. There seems little doubt which Awards show de Ramon would have preferred to attend.  She would have still been cold in that dress but she wouldn't have had to spend half the day flying by herself and more people may have recognized her.

They haven't been in the same city since at least late January when Wolfs started filming in NY.  She just arrived so they haven't had much time together, but his attention and body language was towards David Fincher.  Seating was arranged so he and Fincher could be side by side.  None of the videos show him looking at or talking to her.

It may or may not be a coincidence that stories about them started to reemerge just as Babylon was starting to stream on Paramount + (Feb. 21).  I had thought they already threw in the towel for Babylon.  It presaged their appearance at the César.

"The 29-year-old looked over the moon as she left her work office in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening, holding onto a ceramic vase with an abundance of peonies. Not only that, but under her arm she held onto a bread baguette after receiving the gifts at her workplace."
"A source confirms to PEOPLE that the actor, 59, was indeed the one behind the romantic delivery to his 32-year-old sweetheart."
Peonies symbolise good luck and prosperity.  Perhaps there's added symbolism when it's peonies and a baguette.

The woman in a white gown visible briefly at the left appears to be Ines. With his back turned to her, he seemed oblivious of her.  At no point did he try to draw her into the group or act like he was with anyone else.

One of the women he greeted is Fincher's wife, Ceán Chaffin, who Ines evidently did not know at all --  and Brad made no effort to introduce them.   They would eventually meet when they were seated together during the dinner.

Fincher is one of Brad's best friends and neighbor.  He also lives in Laughlin Park, down the street from the DeMille.  While talking about the "very, very funny friends" who helped him with his acceptance speeches he said, “My man Fincher, we trade barbs every week.”

Not only has Ines not met his closest friends, he did not think of introducing her to them even when they were next to each other.  This drives a stake through the heart of the whole story.  They are not in fact friends, they do not hang out, and he privately distances himself from the association.

The above video may have been taken just as they walked in.  They seem to be near the entrance / exit.  He saw Ceán Chaffin shortly thereafter as the same light fixture is visible from a different angle.

Unlike Ceán Chaffin whom de Ramon evidently did not know or recognize, she was very excited to see the woman in the white and black stitch jacket.  She can be heard loudly cutting in as Brad was talking to the woman but he ignored her, he did not pause or glance at her.  (What she said sounded like "We have been drinking."  Since she is reportedly a "celebrity health coach" -- maybe a health drink?)

His shoulders are turned away from de Ramon.  His body language is not inclusive.

He posed for several photos and videos at the reception, notably for the Académie des César and Vanity Fair, but de Ramon was nowhere to be seen.  The only other photos of them together came from the Paris Match video when they were seated for dinner.

From what was seen in the videos, he was distant and inattentive.  It's why other attendees did not make a connection between them and the videos only incidentally had Ines in the same frame.

The same contradictory message marks all their appearances. Together but not.

From the Bono concert, to her birthday dinner, to Cabo, and now Paris, it would have only needed one photo showing some semblance of intimacy to make the story convincing.

She has been described as a jewelry designer and as a health coach.  Whatever their arrangement is, the association can't hurt.  It should also serve to end with finality the Jennifer Aniston stories.

Totally under the radar, Angelina spent the previous weekend in NY.  This, more than helping Babylon, may have been the objective. The four bags of groceries were clearly not for her -- and unlikely to be for Zahara.  They had plenty of room.

The fan site AJ Brasil claimed the photos just posted Feb 25 were taken Monday, Feb. 20 in JFK, but dm and other sites had her out and about with Zahara in NY on Monday.  So perhaps she left NYC on Tuesday, Feb. 21.

She appears to be holding her passport so she may be leaving on an international flight.  (To Paris? 😊) The other big security is there as well.

Brad Pitt and Ines de Ramon have reportedly brought their love to the City of Light.

After appearing unannounced at France's annual César Awards on Friday evening, where he surprised director David Fincher with an honor, Pitt, 59, then attended the ceremony's after-dinner at Fouquet's on the Champs-Élysées with girlfriend de Ramon, Paris Match reported.

Sources tell PEOPLE that the pair traveled separately to France, with Pitt — who has been filming the upcoming film Wolves in New York City with George Clooney — arriving in Paris on Thursday evening, while de Ramon arrived a day later.
