The storyline is of an old race driver seeking to be competitive again by flaunting safety. Will this storyline interest F1 fans? Other moviegoers?

He is hawking Miraval wine and Garders Gin (and Ines de Ramon). 

Is this a contractual obligation?  After repeatedly discussing his stint with Alcoholics Anonymous and proclaiming his sobriety, the take-away here is that promoting his interests in wine and gin are more important than staying on message about remaining sober. Profit trumps family. The subliminal message, whether or not it's true for him, is it's OK to fall off the wagon.

With his well known alcohol-infused melt down and the on-going problems it created, his effectiveness as an endorser of anything alcoholic is compromised. Having him pose holding the bottles seems deperate.
Are sales foundering? This does not help anyone.

His "sources'" repeated denials of the plane incident to protect his name may be why he is estranged from the kids and why they are dropping Pitt.
