Award winning actress and UN Special Envoy Angelina Jolie has urged European Nations to address the mounting crisis in the Mediterranean and contribute aid to rescue efforts aimed at reducing migrant deaths at sea. Jolie visited with the Armed Forces of Malta on September 15, to discuss their rescue operations, which have been responsible for saving thousands of refugees fleeing their countries by boat for Europe.The UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres and Jolie met with three survivors of the boat tragedy on September 12, when as many as 700 migrants died in a shipwreck in the Mediterranean.
