It appears a Vuitton-sponsored party in honor of Muhammad Ali, the new LV spokesperson, is being held at the Victoria and Albert Museum to benefit Sports for Peace, a project supported by Nelson Mandela. The Mirror no doubt sprinkled on a healthy dose of speculation especially about prospective invitees but given the principals involved, their active participation certainly sounds plausible.
Muhammad Ali has been revealed as the new face of
Louis Vuitton’s Core Values campaign, taking over from the one and only Miss Angelina Jolie.
Sure he isn’t as pretty as Ange, nor does he have her gorgeous full
head of hair or Hollywood brood (although his grandson is equally as
adorable as the Jolie-Pitt kids!), but we predict his influence will be
just as great!
Akin to
Angelina’s Louis Vuitton campaign which
debuted this time last year, the heavyweight boxing champ’s ad campaign
was also shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz. No fancy location
needed for the backdrop though… he’s just casually chillin’ in his house
in Arizona. Jealous, much?!
“Muhammad Ali is the epitome of an outstanding personality – a true
living legend in boxing and far beyond,” Yves Carcelle, a spokesperson
for Louis Vuitton said in a statement.
“We are honoured that he agreed to be photographed for the Core
Values campaign, and delighted with the way this beautiful portrait of
the champion and his grandson captures the idea of transmission, which
is of great significance to Louis Vuitton.”
Let’s all look at his grandson one more time and let out a collective “awwwww”!

Premier power couple and noted dynamic duo
Brad Pitt and
Angelina Jolie are reportedly throwing a bash of Olympian proportions two days before the 2012 London games begin.

The
Victoria and Albert Museum has confirmed that on July 25, Brangelina will host a private fundraising event for
Nelson Mandela‘s “Sports for Peace” initiative, also honoring
recent Louis Vuitton spokesmodel Muhammad Ali.
Expected guests include the
Duke and
Duchess of Cambridge,
Prince Harry,
David and
Victoria Beckham,
Sharon Stone and
Michael Douglas and
Catherine Zeta-Jones.
A four-course, black tie dinner will follow a reception in the
Victoria and Albert gardens, culminating in a ceremony in the museum’s
Raphael Gallery. And after the party is the after party, handled by Mr.
Jolie-Pitt.
A source
told the UK’s Daily Mirror:
“Angelina is on official work duty but Brad is ensuring fun will be
had after hours, and is very hands-on organising the booze-fuelled house
party after. It’s going to be an Olympics-themed party, with huge
buckets of home-made cocktails on offer. The who’s who of British and
American celebrity will be in attendance, and invitees have been ordered
not to take any photos from their phones.”
So does that mean we won’t be seeing any fuzzy pics of Angie and
Kate Middleton shot-putting their
diamond rings into the punch bowl? Sad face. [

ON this day in history...
...2011,
Angelina Jolie was unveiled as the star
of
Louis Vuitton's
Core Values
campaign. Photographed by the legendary
Annie Lebowitz, the actress posed bare-foot on
a traditional wooden boat in the Siem Reap province of Cambodia,
with a Louis Vuitton
Alto holdall bag. "We are
honoured that Angelina Jolie agreed to participate in our campaign,
whose central theme of travel as both a physical and emotional
journey is one with which she can personally identify," Pietro
Beccari - executive vice president of Louis Vuitton - explained.
"Angelina Jolie is a global star in every sense - not only in
her career as an actress, but also in her long-term commitment to
international humanitarian issues." Jolie donated her entire fee
for the campaign to charity.

What do you get for the woman who has everything? If you're
Brad Pitt -- and the
birthday gal in question is fiancée
Angelina Jolie, who turned 37 on June 4 -- the answer is a secret getaway to
Egypt!
On June 3, the globetrotting pair touched down via private jet in the
land of the Nile, where they spent several days sightseeing in the
historical cities of Aswan and Luxor. The couple visited the temples of
Philae and Edfu and the Nubia Museum.
No doubt the trip served a dual purpose for Angelina, who is
preparing for her portrayal of Egyptian queen Cleopatra in an upcoming
biopic.
And she and Brad, 48, are planning to return to the Middle Eastern
country soon. According to the Egyptian minister of tourism, Mounir
Fakhri, who accompanied Brangelina on their tour, they're coming back --
for their honeymoon!
