A two-day turn around. Arrived in Paris July 29. Overnight on the Venice-Simplon Orient Express. Arrived in Venice July 30. Visited Ai Weiwei, checked into Cipriani, had dinner. Left Venice and flew back to L.A. July 31. I think the purpose of the trip was to take the VSOE and be photographed by JR. If it was for anything in Venice they could have just flown to Venice directly. Or chatted via Zoom. This was not a vacation and they may have simply maximized use of their time in meeting Ai Weiwei while in Venice. She obviously has a very tight schedule with promo interviews for Eternals already starting.

There are belatedly released pap photos of Angelina and Shiloh boarding the VSOE in Gare d'Est in Paris on July 29. The pap caption says they flew in from Los Angeles but there are no photos from inside the airport and it does not appear as though they flew commercial. That may just be a guess by paps waiting outside but their additional luggage seen in Gare d'Est meant she did pack enough for a transatlantic trip -- and had more outfits than just the kaftan 😀-- so a trip originating from L.A. seems logical.
The photos show them leaving thru a private entrance and approaching a van which looks like what they used around Paris previously. The photos in fact look very much like those taken when they left the Meurice down to the marble sign to the left of the entrance. They are next seen entering a building. There is security flanking them in both entrances and includes the long haired guy who is part of their regular Paris detail. They are seen on the train platform and a porter trails them with their rollaboards -- her LV and Shiloh's Rimowa. Another porter has a large duffle which may also be theirs or belonging to someone else in their party, but everyone around them appears to be security or VSOE personnel. There is a bald guy chatting with the long-haired guy but he appears to be more heavy-set than the one who accompanied them around Venice. Before boarding, she waves at someone inside the train and it looks like JR and Prune are looking out from an open window in the wide photo taken on the platform.
This is another example of the paps releasing photos too late. There would have been far more interest in them if they were released immediately, before the photos of them arriving in Venice and before JR posted photos taken during their trip. Photos from the start of a trip that has already finished, after far more interesting photos were already posted, are not going to attract much interest.
