By now, we all know that Angelina Jolie is going to look wickedly awesome in Maleficent, as both promotional shots of her in character and on-set pictures have been released. The live-action film is going to tell the story of Sleeping Beauty‘s
“villain”, Maleficent, portrayed by Angelina. But we’re wondering if
she’s going to be overshadowed by another famous face in the film? Her
daughter, four-year-old Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, is making her acting debut in the film, under the watchful eye of her mom. Little Viv’s playing the kid version of Princess Aurora, who grows up to be Elle Fanning in the movie. We can’t wait to see that angelic face in action! Angie’s kids have visited her on the Maleficent set,
but we didn’t know that one of them was actually going to be involved
in the film. But it was kind of hilarious to see Angelina, in full
costume with those huge horns, toting around her kids on her hip. We
wonder how big Vivienne’s role of going to be in the film, but with that
adorable mug, we know she’s going to make a big impression even if
she’s got a small part.
Vivienne Jolie-Pitt is following in her parents' footsteps.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's daughter, 4, landed her first Hollywood gig, Walt Disney Studios confirmed to PEOPLE on Wednesday in a statement.
Jolie-Pitt will play the child version of Princess Aurora, opposite Jolie, in Maleficent, the live-action updated version of the classic fairy-tale Sleeping Beauty.
Elle Fanning, who plays the grown version of Aurora, will take
on the majority of Aurora's role, according to sources, who add that
Jolie-Pitt's part is very minor.
Sources also note that as of
now, it is unknown whether Jolie, 37, and her little one will share a
scene, or if Jolie-Pitt will have any lines.
This isn't the first time a child in the famous family has
joined one of their parents in a movie. Shiloh Jolie-Pitt had a cameo as
a toddler in Pitt's film, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which was released in December 2008.

It looks like "Maleficent," Disney's upcoming re-imagining of the Sleepy Beauty fairy tale, is going to be a family affair.
The studio announced today that star Angelina Jolie will be joined in the film by her daughter, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt.
Taking place before Disney's1959 animated classic "Sleeping Beauty," the
new live-action film explores the roots of Queen Maleficent's villainy,
and examines why she eventually curses the beautiful young Princess
Aurora (Elle Fanning) and turn her into Sleeping Beauty. Sharlto Copley
("District 9") plays King Stefan.
Special Effects wizard Robert Stromberg (who worked on the "Pirates
of the Caribbean" films) is making his directorial debut on the film.
In a small supporting part, the junior Jolie (age 4) will play the child version of Princess Aurora.
Jolie also has five more children (three were adopted with boyfriend
Brad Pitt), so this likely won't be the last time we see two generations
of Jolies on screen together. It should also be noted that Jolie made
her own film debut, when she was 7, alongside her father, Jon Voight, in
1982's "Lookin' to Get Out."
As a young child, Angelina Jolie made her screen debut in father Jon Voight's Lookin' to Get Out,
and now Jolie will continue that tradition: Disney announced today that
her daughter Vivienne Jolie-Pitt has been cast opposite Mom in Maleficent.
(Vivienne will play a briefly glimpsed younger version of Sleeping
Beauty — later played by Elle Fanning — while Jolie is the iconic
villainess who terrorizes her.) Shiloh's all, "Did it already, got the T-shirt."
Updated: While The Sun's writer must be the only person in the entertainment biz unfamiliar with the story of Sleeping Beauty
-- and lazily didn't even bother to look it up in Wikipedia, score one
for them because the basic story -- that Vivienne Jolie-Pitt will play
the younger Princess aurora -- has been confirmed by Disney. Blonde,
blue-eyed Vivienne could certainly pass for a younger blonde, blue-eyed
Elle Fanning -- although as everyone but The Sun's writer knows, Aurora
is not Maleficent's daughter.

ANGELINA Jolie has helped her four-year-old daughter land a first major film
role – playing her on-screen daughter.
Vivienne Jolie-Pitt will play Princess Aurora, the daughter of Ange’s
character Maleficent, in a reworking of the fairytale Sleeping Beauty.
The mum-of-six thought her youngest would be ideal for the role and persuaded
bosses to sign her.
Maleficent is shooting in England and is out next summer.
A source said: “Ange thought it would be a fun experience for her and Viv to
share, and Viv is a natural.
“The other kids are now nagging Ange and Brad to land them roles.”
This reads like the product from a brain-storming session on how to further leverage an old story. For one thing, her last 2 interviews on Today were conducted by Matt Lauer (for The Tourist) and Meredith Vieira (for Kung Fu Panda 2), not Curry. Even if she shares the widely held view that NBC mishandled Curry's departure, she rarely involves herself in debates that fall outside the core socio-political issues she focuses her advocacy work on.
"The network denied the report on Wednesday. "There isn’t any truth to
this," a spokesperson told The Huffington Post. "Angelina Jolie has not
reached out to Ann or anyone from NBC News."
Gossip Cop's rebuttal
“Angelina Jolie Tells Ann Curry: Brad & I Will NOT Give Interviews To TODAY,” reads the headline of another wholly fabricated story from RadarOnline.
According to the webloid, “In the days after Ann Curry was sacked
from her co-host gig on the ‘Today’ show, Angelina Jolie reached out to
the veteran journalist and told her if NBC wanted an interview with
her, or fiance Brad Pitt, it would be conducted by Curry, and definitely not any of the current cast of the embattled morning news program.”
“Angie doesn’t like how Ann has been treated by NBC,” alleges the
site’s “source,” who adds that, “Yes, she is a very busy mom of six, and
her work as an actress and activist, but she has been very aware of
what is going on with her friend.”

But Curry “was sacked,” as RadarOnline so eloquently put it, back in June.
Why is Jolie’s supposed conversation with Curry just coming out now?
In any case, the bad, bad blog goes on to step in it further, quoting
a so-called “source” as saying that Jolie’s demand applies to “ANY
news program from NBC,” not just the “Today” show.
So, how did Curry allegedly respond?
“It meant the world to Ann that Angelina had reached out to her,” claims the “source.” NO, it didn’t — because this alleged phone chat NEVER HAPPENED.
A rep for the “Today” show tells Gossip Cop that Curry never fielded any such call from Jolie, and added that everyone at NBC News is absolutely unaware of the Oscar winner’s supposed demand. Follow @GossipCop on Twitter!

to her. Angelina made it clear to Ann that no one from the current TODAY
show cast would get an interview with Angelina or Brad, and with rumors
of an upcoming wedding for the couple, NBC will lose any interviews
with the actors in the future if Ann isn't allowed to do it," the
insider added.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Nielsen ratings released Monday indicate ABC's Good Morning America beat TODAY
last week, despite huge momentum for the NBC morning program, which was
coming off two dominant ratings weeks with their exclusive coverage
from the London Olympics.
GMA beat TODAY by an average of 162,000 viewers, according to the Nielsens, as TODAY only won Monday out of the five-day week. TODAY had squashed GMA
during the two weeks of the Olympics by an average of more than 1.5
million viewers a week, but lost all five weeks in the ratings battle
prior to the games in London.
Furthermore, Matt Lauer is "hated" by several long-time producers of TODAY
and the crew is in turmoil, all as a result of the morning show host
having pushed NBC executives to dump Curry as his co-anchor.
"There are several producers that have been with the TODAY show for a very long time, over ten years, and Matt Lauer
is now hated by them because they feel that he is responsible for Ann
Curry's being fired. Ann was tremendously popular with the producers,
cameramen, and other staffers of the show because she truly is a team
player. Ann was all about the news, and breaking stories, just a true
pro," a source previously told us.
"Angelina doesn't have a publicist, she never has, and she hand picks
who she does press with. Angie doesn't like how Ann has been treated by
NBC. Yes, she is a very busy mom of six, and her work as an actress and
activist, but she has been very aware of what is going on with her
friend. Angelina told Brad he should let Ann interview him for all of
his work in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, and Brad feels the same
way about Ann that Angie does," the insider says.

executives to dump Ann Curry as his co-anchor, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

staffers are disgruntled because they were looking forward to working

As previously reported, despite huge efforts by TODAY show producers, Good Morning America
continues to nip at their heels in the ratings war, and staffers of the
embattled morning show are grumbling that they feel it was a mistake to
replace Curry with Savannah Guthrie.
"Ann had been part of the TODAY show for over 15 years, and her send
off was just horribly executed. It's not lost on anyone that GMA beat
the TODAY show on Wednesday in the ratings yet again. Viewers have had
enough and the show just isn't staying relevant. Morale is extremely low
and something is going to need to change very quickly before they can
get the TODAY show back in first place for good," an insider previously
told us.
TODAY beat GMA on Monday and Tuesday, but the ABC show won the
ratings race on Wednesday when Robert Pattinson did his first morning
show interview since the cheating scandal involving girl friend Kristen Stewart erupted.
During Thursday's show Al Roker seemed to take a dig at Matt Lauer for throwing Ann "under the bus."
"The ladies threw you in the water after winning the gold?" Lauer
asked Olympic women's rowing team member and California-native, Mary Whipple.
"The tradition here in New York is you throw her in the Hudson
River." Roker cheekily quipped: "Which is different to our tradition
here which is to throw one of us under the bus! But that's a different
story..."
After a second of stunned silence -- and nervous laughter -- both
Lauer and Guthrie said with a sarcastic tone, "Mr. Roker!" Roker may
have responded with a cryptic Tweet on Friday, "Some competitors are
classier than others. Sad, really," after CBS and ABC News did stories
about the popular weatherman's comments about being thrown under the
bus.
"The crew is taking bets about what the cast will look like in one
year, and the money is on Savannah Guthrie not sticking around if the
ratings continue to plummet. The crew and producers don't have an issue
with Savannah, in fact, they really like her, but they are just getting
to know her. Ann was with TODAY for over 15 years," the source says.

There is good news for fans of Gary Oldman,
who somehow span the generations from “Sid & Nancy” to “Harry
Potter.” Mr. Oldman, even more amazingly a first-time Oscar nominee
only this year, for his performance in “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy,”
is the subject of a film retrospective in New York this week, organized

It’s
part of a sudden rash of appearances by the best-actor nominees,
highlighting not only their current roles but also their careers. Brad
Pitt turned up on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter, on “The Daily Show”
and taped an episode of “Inside the Actors Studio,” following in the
footsteps of his pal and leading-man competitor George Clooney. On Mr.
Clooney’s episode of “Inside the Actors Studio,” which covered his
screen roles from “ER” to Alexander Payne’s “Descendants,” he said he
had wanted to work with Mr. Payne since “Sideways” (he was passed over
in favor of Thomas Haden Church for the playboy sidekick), adding that
he agreed to do “The Descendants” without first reading the script. When
he did, he found that his character, Matt King, was unlike anyone he’d
ever played – it was, he said, a part he would not have been able to do
five years ago. (Are you listening, Academy voters? It was a real
stretch!)
Mr. Clooney and Mr. Payne will appear in a TimesTalk in Los Angeles this week, the same night the actor will be seen on the CBS show “Person to Person,”
showing viewers around his home. Tonight, Mr. Pitt and some of the cast
and crew behind “Moneyball” host their own Q. and A. alongside the real
Billy Beane, whom Mr. Pitt played in the movie.
The Bagger joked about the awards race this year being a diva-off between Meryl Streep and Glenn Close – a joke that Ms. Streep did not appreciate,
thankyouverymuch – but perhaps the real rivalry is between Mr. Clooney
and Mr. Pitt, pals and frequent co-stars who know how to make the most
of Academy (and other) attention.
Their competition has been busy too: Jean Dujardin has been on a never-ending talk show and Q. and A. cycle for “The Artist,” Mr. Oldman is doing a victory lap, and Demian Bichir is alternating between serious and silly reactions to his role in “A Better Life.” But if audiences want anyone to go mano a mano, it’s the People’s Sexiest Man Alive duo.

Despite recent reports, Angelina Jolie assures Vanity Fair contributing editor Rich Cohen that there is “no secret wedding” in the works for her and Pitt. “I’m not pregnant. I’m not adopting at the moment,” the star tells Cohen.
“Brad thinks I’m going to be a nightmare,” Jolie jokes, telling how directing her new movie, In the Land of Blood and Honey, has changed the way she will approach her acting career. “I had such a good experience he thinks I’m going to be impatient with directors, which I already am. I get impatient with people working on a film that have their head in their hands like it’s the most complicated thing in the world.”
“I’ve never felt more exposed. My whole career, I’ve hidden behind other people’s words,” Jolie tells Cohen of her screenwriting and feature directorial debut. “Now it’s me talking. You feel ridiculous when you get something wrong.”
“I had the flu,” Jolie says of how she came to write the script. “I had to be quarantined from the children for two days. I was in the attic of a house in France. I was isolated, pacing. I don’t watch TV and I wasn’t reading anything. So I started writing. I went from the beginning to the end. I didn’t know any other way.” She says she then let Brad take the script to read on a trip: “He called and said, ‘You know, honey, it’s not that bad.’”
Jolie admits she did not initially intend to direct the film. “It was something I didn’t trust out of my hands,” she explains. “So by default I ended up putting myself in as director.” Of her decision to use all unknown actors from the region, she says, “It couldn’t be anybody else. It’s their story. It was important that they were willing to do it. If none of them were willing, I wouldn’t have made it.”
Jolie does elaborate on Brad’s supportive role throughout the project. “He’d come in and say what he liked or what he didn’t understand. Like any woman, I would listen to most of it and fight a few things. He’s been so supportive. But it’s hard to separate the person that loves you from the critic, so I don’t think he’s a fair judge.” But she goes on to say that “people will judge for themselves. I think if you make a good movie people walk away arguing.”
Before shooting, Jolie says, she sent the script to “reporters and writers, people of Serbian and Bosnian nationality who’d been through the war. I was gauging the accuracy…. If they said no, I wouldn’t have done it.”

Angelina Jolie and her partner Brad Pitt
are in movies all the time, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that
Angie watches them! She dished on her bad movie habits in the October
issue of Vanity Fair.
“Brad jokes with me, because I”ll watch a movie and I’ll be asleep in five minutes,” she says in the interview. “I’m terrible. There’s some of my own I’ve never seen.”
She does admit that she manages to watch the ones Brad stars in,
however, adding, “Since I’ve been with him I’ve seen all the ones we’ve
gone to the premieres for.”
So what’s her favorite Brad movie?
“I think I liked Jesse [The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford]
because I knew how hard he worked on that. It’s interesting: when you
live with an artist, it’s not the film but the process you respect. I
know he took a risk on that, fought for it, stood true to what he
believe.d He didn’t cave when people were pressing him, and he made a
beautiful film.”
But before they end up on the silver screen, the twosome also help each other out by running potential roles past each other.
“We read each other’s things. More now than when we were first
together. We throw each other scripts and say, ‘Is this good, or have I
lost my mind?’ ”
