The only big star who drove himself to the party. If he used his custom SUV, no one can see inside. He wanted them to be seen and clearly photographed together.
So why did he have his PR tell People:
"He and Ines arrived together but did their own thing."It's a detail they didn't need to share, but he wants people to know that while they arrived together, they didn't stay together during the party.
It undermines "they're incredibly happy together". It somewhat reinforces
"Ines has a strong sense of independence and enjoys catching up with her L.A. friends. She's using this time to recharge."Independence while he's out of town filming (even though they touted "they love traveling together and supporting each other's careers.”). But doing her "own thing" i. e. hanging out with people other than Brad in Leo's birthday party when she is there as Brad's date?
"Brad was in the front patio of the party the entire night. He was in a great mood, was super social and greeting everyone."Nothing on where Ines was or what she was doing.
You could say he was in a great mood doing his own thing without her. Or put another way, his great mood had nothing to do with her.
That may have been the script. Ines is an actor taking directions.
The photo op is to show they're still together -- for the cameras, the added info they've been doling out serves to suggest that looks can be deceiving.
That PR gives unreliable info.
And that Ines lately and visibly hasn't been enjoying what she signed up for.

Leonardo DiCaprio celebrated his 50th birthday on Saturday night with a star-studded, private party.
A spy told Page Six: “The night kicked off with an intimate dinner catered by Nobu,” and that, “the scene was nothing short of star-studded” with lots of the star’s longtime collaborators.
Guests spotted at the celebration, we hear, included DiCaprio’s “Catch Me If You Can” director Steven Spielberg and his wife, Kate Capshaw, as well as “Killers of the Flower Moon” star Robert De Niro and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” actor Brad Pitt — who arrived early to join the celebration and attended with his girlfriend, Ines De Ramon.
