The story in People re Vivienne's name in the Playbill was a quick response to bottom feeder OK's post the day before.  OK also noted that Shiloh's Instagram account, tagged by her dance teacher, showed she was only using Jolie.  People's story does not mention Shiloh. 

People's tweet received 513K clicks as of this writing -- more than all recent stories about either of them combined.  It was the first time most people would learn of it.

People ran the story that Zahara introduced herself as Zahara Marley Jolie only days after every other publication had already written about it.

This time they reacted quickly to OK which was trying to use Tony Webb's declaration to claim that Brad believed Angelina was sabotaging his relationship with the kids. They didn't want that to be the story that would run on the internet which would only displease the kids further.   But the question is why Brad's lawyers decided to use Webb and his declaration, which they made sure had credibility problems and was totally ignored in the NDA hearing.  It only served as a public distraction with a risk-reward ratio on the far side of idiotic.  They can thank John Berlinski or whoever was the genius responsible for another self-inflicted wound.

Brad's PR practically has an office inside People. It's impossible that they "could not be reached for comment."  But there was no comment even from the usual sources "close to Pitt" that regularly feed People. There was similarly no comment in Zahara's story.


The People article chose old quotes highlighting "years of reports of strain in Pitt’s relationship with his children."  The overall picture presented by People -- with drafting assistance from them -- is inching closer to the truth.

This is interesting because People did not say anything of the sort when it was Zahara, even though she was no longer a minor while Vivienne still is.  It may be a not-so-subtle reminder to all concerned that the longer this drags on, the more the children can and may be tempted to make the change legal -- which would be a setback to fully healing the family.

My children have had the Jolie-Pitt name for a long time. I finally have the name of my children.  We were feeling like there was mommy’s side and daddy’s side, and the kids were Jolie-Pitt so it was nice to join them.

When they filed the Judgement - status only in April 2019 wherein Angelina asked that her name be restored back to Jolie, there was only a brief statement that People attributed to "a source":
“Both parents are focused on what’s best for the kids."
It was intended to be the carrot to the May 30, 2018 Order's stick.  They can again all have the same name once they've met their reunification goals.  But Angelina then wanted to take on reforming the system, and getting all the information she needed has added years.  Zahara and Vivienne and Shiloh can't wait.  They are all now old enough to be heard.  If their Mom isn't Jolie-Pitt, they don't want to be either.  They only want to be Jolie-Pitt if their Mom is as well.

This isn't what they want or anticipated. When Atelier Jolie released photos taken by Pax, they credited the photos to Pax Jolie-Pitt.

Zahara's truth. The clear and unvarnished truth.

Zahara is expressing her affection and appreciation for her mother. She did not feel her father merited equal acknowledgment.

Zahara's intro laid bare the state of the children's relationship with Brad. It confirms what was outlined in Wasser's email exchange with Spiegel. This was always about the children's desire and ability to be with Brad.

Zahara had been very close to Brad. From what is known about what transpired on the plane, she was mainly a witness and not specifically targeted during his rants. Unlike her older brothers, she and the younger kids are not known to have declined Brad's monitored visits in the months immediately after the incident. How she feels towards Brad is as good as it gets for him among the children.  It obviously remains far from what it was before his rampage.

The mental health experts have testified that the kids are now able to be with Brad, but his relationship with them has been changed forever.  The plane incident necessitated years of trauma therapy.  The efforts by Brad's team to deny the truth and shift the blame made things worse. The children's trust and respect for him were badly shaken and it took several years before the mental health experts were satisfied that their relationship had sufficiently healed. Angelina placed everything on hold to help the children and the family heal.  The children's love for her is self-evident.

"I spent years with a low-grade depression, and it’s not until coming to terms with that, trying to embrace all sides of self—the beauty and the ugly—that I’ve been able to catch those moments of joy." "not till recently that I have had a greater embrace of my friends and family."

There is apparently no desire by anyone to talk about Zahara's intro.  It is what it is.

This belies all claims of a custody dispute more recently used in their Nouvel false narrative extension wranglings.

All Angelina has ever wanted was separation and health, with positive relationships between all members of their family, including Mr. Pitt.

“Common NDAs are simply not comparable to Mr. Pitt’s last-second demand to try and cover up his personal misconduct," says Murphy, adding that they are "gratified that the Court acknowledged that the only potential relevance is to the unconscionability of Mr. Pitt’s conduct, a now confirmed key issue in this case."

Murphy says the ruling "opens the door to discovery on all issues related to Pitt’s abuse" and "we welcome that transparency in all parties’ discovery responses."

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Vivienne appears to have dropped the “Pitt” from her last name.

In the Playbill for the new musical The Outsiders, which Vivienne helped mom Jolie, 48, produce, the 15-year-old is listed as “Vivienne Jolie" instead of "Vivienne Jolie-Pitt," PEOPLE can confirm.

It is not immediately clear if Vivienne has legally changed her name.

Representatives for both Jolie and Pitt could not be reached for comment.

Vivienne is not the first of Jolie and Pitt's six children to go by a changed name in recent years.

While joining the Mu Pi chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at her university, Spelman College, last November, the former couple's eldest daughter Zahara introduced herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie,” a video shared by Essence showed.

Both Vivienne and Zahara’s apparent name changes come after years of reports of strain in Pitt’s relationship with his children since Jolie first filed for divorce and sole physical custody of their kids — Vivienne, Zahara, Knox, Maddox, Pax and Shiloh — in 2016.

In August 2022, a Pitt source told PEOPLE that the actor, 60, was hoping to soon reach a better place with his children amid the exes’ ongoing custody battle. They explained that “it's been a sad situation for years.”

“Since Angelina filed for divorce, Brad has been focused on having the best relationship possible with his kids,” the insider said. “It's been very difficult for him. Many times, there have been long gaps where he didn't see the kids at all."

At the time, the source also said the Babylon star “misses the kids when he doesn't see them,” detailing, “He believes there will be a time when he has a great relationship with his kids again.”

More recently, a security guard who worked for the ex-couple — and still works for Pitt — claimed that Jolie allegedly encouraged their children to “avoid” their father during visits, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE earlier this month. The filing came amid the exes' battle over their French winery, Château Miraval.

The security guard's claims also came months after Jolie alleged, via lawyers in a court filing, that Pitt was abusive toward her prior to the 2016 plane incident that led her to file for divorce.

Vivienne’s name is featured in The Outsiders Playbill as a producer assistant. And while she was not allotted a bio, her mom’s producer information reads: “Angelina is thrilled to be working on her first theatrical producing venture alongside her daughter, Vivienne, who is a theatre student and supporter of the arts.”

Jolie first announced that she was producing the Broadway adaptation of S.E. Hinton's novel and Francis Ford Coppola’s 1983 film The Outsiders in August 2023.

During the musical’s April 2024 opening night, Jolie told PEOPLE that Vivienne was the one who inspired her to take on the project.

“She saw an early workshop a few times and then invited me to it,” the actress said.

"Viv is a young artist who focuses her efforts on her support of others," Jolie added. "She has been there to assist in any way she can and has learned so much from [score and co-book writer] Justin Levine and the whole creative team."
