Brad's team gave a heads up re New Year's on Dec. 16, the day after the Babylon premiere.  As promised, People printed their New Year's press release. 

Brad and his team employed the exact same MO as with the Babylon after party.   In both instances they chose crowded events where there should have been a lot of witnesses and should have been accompanied if not preceded by social media photos and sightings.  It is telling that both stories didn't have any.  The reports did not include any names of who they interacted with together in the busy events. The absence of proof and independent confirmation served to reinforce lingering doubts, as they knew it would.  One hand is undermining what the other is trying to promote.

Romance sells and the tabloids have made up a lot of stories in the past (as Neri Oxman et al can attest), usually vague stories not easily disproven.  They hardly ever involve actual big events with many potential witnesses who can question their claims.  16 hours after the People report was posted, only DM and JJ -- probably the least discriminating of tabloid clickbait hunters -- had reposted the story. In contrast, Page Six, ET Canada etc. immediately pounced on the Paul Mescal coffee "date" after it was first posted. The big difference is the photo.







People was no doubt promised something in return for its services.

His team's promotion of dating via press release is as uncharacteristic as it is unlikely.  Just one more element that fuels skepticism.  Creating another extension of the false narrative, but keeping it safely at arm's length.

They could have very easily posed for photos but it makes a denial more complicated and thus counterproductive over the long term.  Both the Bono concert and Ines' Pace dinner had many other guests. There are no photos of them in a car together but there are photos of Brad arriving and leaving alone. In the absence of a direct quote, actions or photos speak louder than words planted by reps.

The line that matters and that he wants out there is: he "is not seeing anyone else right now." Translation: he is not available.



Brad Pitt and Ines de Ramon welcomed 2023 from Mexico!

The couple arrived in Cabo San Lucas ahead of the holiday weekend and celebrated New Year's Eve together Saturday in the popular tourist destination in Mexico's Baja California peninsula.

"They are dating and having fun," a source tells PEOPLE. "They have a good thing going on. There is no stress. Brad is enjoying it."

The insider adds that the actor, 59, "is not seeing anyone else right now" besides the 32-year-old jewelry designer, 32."He is spending more time with Ines," the source says. "He is very happy."

Their getaway comes just under two weeks after de Ramon joined Pitt to celebrate his 59th birthday in Hollywood, California.

"Ines said that Brad is very sweet," the source says, noting that the pair "are planning to spend New Year's Eve together."
Meanwhile, a source close to Pitt tells PEOPLE the pair are "dating and happy," adding, "It's not serious yet but he's comfortable and they're having fun together."
A separate insider says Pitt "enjoys dating Ines" and they "hang out when they are not busy." The insider adds, "Ines is fun and social. They have a great time together. They do solo dates, but also group dates with friends."
