Paps staking out two different gates of Laughlin Park saw him exiting twice and entering once on Thursday. The first photos of him leaving were taken at the corner of Normandie and Franklin Ave. Brad apparently exited Laughlin Park in the morning through its Normandie gate -- the most secluded of the community's 4 gates and a circuitous drive from the DeMille. Without a bandana and using one of his favorite motorcycles, he was not trying to avoid being recognized but evidently hoped for a low key exit. The paps were not parked right outside the Normandie gate but further down the road on Franklin Ave. They caught him as he approached the corner. The 2nd batch of photos was taken at the corner of Franklin Ave. and Laughlin Park Drive where he was snapped a few days ago. The paps are set up across the road from the gate which is the most convenient for the DeMille. They snapped Brad returning around noon and leaving by the same gate later in the afternoon.
The paps have better luck catching him when he is leaving than arriving. We've now seen him exiting three times but only once entering even though there must be paps watching every gate into Laughlin Park (the other two gates are on Los Feliz Blvd., one of which enters DeMille Drive but snakes around before reaching #2000). He could be arriving in the evening when the paps are unable to get good photos from across the street, or he could be using one of their many heavily tinted SUVs. Angelina has not been snapped arriving or leaving, and among the kids only Maddox was photographed while he was driving in two years ago.
Again, Brad paid for a third of the purchase cost of the DeMille, his share initially structured as a loan. Angelina can afford to pay for all of the DeMille on her own, and she could have easily obtained financing from a bank. Brad's "loan" was an equity structure that allowed him to be a stakeholder without being registered as a buyer. His share secured by the loan was held by and in the name of Angelina who was listed as the sole buyer. Even with the nominal structure, it is obvious and very telling that it's a multi-million dollar addition to the financial bonds tying them together as they purchased their new family home. Brad's interest in home design and meticulous attention to detail can be seen in the DeMille's recent renovation. He may have paid most, if not all, of the costs of the renovation to even his share of the total costs with Angelina's. Unlike Briarcliff which Brad paid for entirely, the DeMille is a joint purchase just like Miraval. And like Miraval, the DeMille has also always been Brad's residence. He is the only member of the family who has been photographed entering and leaving because he is the only one who needs and wants to let people know he is there with them.
The narrative they've been steadily pushing forward in the public consciousness is: "they are and have always been partners, they are together."
