LADYBOSS – Angelina Jolie
Ma prochaine Lady Boss sera et est : Angelina Jolie ! Laissez moi relire/redire ça héhé #InstantFierté. Comme vous le savez, il y a une dizaine de jours, j’ai pu rencontrer Angie, grâce à Guerlain. Il y a des rencontres très marquantes et celle ci en fait indéniablement partie. De par mon métier, je rencontre beaucoup de personnalités et de célébrités tout au long de l’année…et j’avoue que la dernière personne qui à m’avoir autant marquée, c’était Karl Lagerfeld il y a quelques années lors d’une soirée.
C’est marrant mais la première question que beaucoup m’ont posé, c’est « Elle est comment Angelina Jolie », bah écoutez je dirai que c’est une femme assez posée, passionnée, avec beaucoup de valeurs. Elle transpire la gentillesse en plus d’être particulièrement sublime ! C’est surtout ce que je retiendrai d’elle.
Je vais quand même vous raconter comment on en est venu à cette rencontre. Il y a quelques semaines, lors de ma visite de la Ruche, en discutant par hasard avec la team Guerlain, elles m’ont expliqué qu’elles bossaient sur un projet top secret mais je cite « croise les doigts ». Sans savoir ce que c’était car rien mais pas un mot n’a filtré, j’ai croisé les doigts comme je pouvais.
Une quinzaine de jours plus tard, Sarah de la Guerlain Team m’appelle et m’annonce la news « On fait venir Angelina Jolie, c’est top secret …et on aimerait que tu la rencontres. » Autant vous dire, que j’ai emménagé tout mon emploi du temps, illico presto. Encore plus dingue, c’était un évènement hyper exclusif, avec un listing (ultraaaa) trié sur le volet. J’étais plus qu’honorée et happy d’être là pour représenter la France. Et comment dire, BEAUTYLICIEUSE + ANGELINA JOLIE = ça ne pouvait donner qu’un LADY BOSS EXCLUSIF.
Valeurs, femmes et inspiration…tels sont les mots qui me viennent tout de suite à l’esprit pour définir ce moment avec cette femme extra et d’une humilité folle ! Je ne vous en dis pas plus et vous souhaite une bonne lecture 🙂
BONJOUR ANGELINA, VOUS N’AVEZ JAMAIS ÉTÉ EGERIE POUR UNE MARQUE DE COSMETIQUES, POURQUOI AVOIR CHOISI GUERLAIN ?
Il
faut, selon moi, croire à un produit pour le mettre en avant. Je crois
vraiment en ce produit, et j’adore travailler avec cette Maison. Quand
nous avons commencé notre collaboration, nous avons discuté du fait que
beaucoup de publicités, surtout dans le parfum, présentaient souvent
une vie fantasmée, irréelle. Nous avons alors décidé de proposer quelque
chose de plus vraie. La première publicité a donc été tournée chez moi,
en France.
Nous avons ensuite
réfléchi à la prochaine étape pour les femmes, à une chose qui serait
importante et précieuse pour elles. J’ai pensé à la liberté, au fait de
faire des choix courageux dans la vie, de se sentir bien, peu importe où
vous en êtes dans votre vie, d’être à l’aise avec cela et de
l’accepter.
Une partie de ce que j’ai appris sur la création d’un parfum aux côtés de GUERLAIN et notamment de Thierry Wasser (cf : nez exclusif de la Maison Guerlain) réside dans l’exploration d’autres pays et cultures. J’ai
compris que le parfum n’est pas artificiel. Quand j’étais jeune, je
sentais un parfum et je ne savais pas d’où il venait. Je pensais que
c’était simplement quelque chose vendu dans un flacon. En réalité, cela
implique tant de choses.
QUELLES SONT VOS VALEURS COMMUNES AVEC GUERLAIN ?
Je suis si reconnaissante et si excitée de travailler avec GUERLAIN. Nous
voulons changer le monde, d’une certaine façon et protéger la terre. Il
n’y a pas de prétention à dire cela et cela passe indéniablement par la
biodiversité.
De plus, ma
mère a toujours été liée à GUERLAIN. Elle ne portait jamais de
maquillage et ne prenait pas vraiment soin d’elle. La seule poudre
qu’elle avait était Ladies In All Climates de GUERLAIN, elle ne
la mettait que pour des occasions très spéciales. J’ai toujours pensé
que c’était une poudre merveilleuse tout droit venue de Paris qui la
faisait se sentir comme une dame. Ce sont de très bons souvenirs.
VOUS ETES TRÈS ATTACHÉE AU CAMBODGE, POUVEZ-VOUS NOUS EN DIRE PLUS ?
Personnellement, j’ai enfin une maison au Cambodge – ce qui était un rêve et je suis fière d’avoir la citoyenneté cambodgienne.
Pendant 17 ans, j’ai travaillé là-bas avec une fondation, mais ce n’est
que récemment que j’y ai construit ma maison. Les équipes GUERLAIN,
bienveillantes, sont venues sur place et nous avons exploré ce sentiment
de féminité et de liberté (cf : le second film publicitaire qui sera disponible en septembre).
Nous
avons passé beaucoup de temps à parler de la philosophie de GUERLAIN et
de la biodiversité. Là-bas, je travaille avec beaucoup d’agriculteurs
et je m’intéresse à la protection de l’environnement ainsi qu’à la
création d’emplois. Nous avons donc aussi échangé sur ces sujets.
Quand
je suis allée au Cambodge pour la première fois, il y a environ 18 ans,
je suis allée à l’endroit où le film a été tourné. Ce
pays est passé par tellement de choses, et il essaie encore de se
remettre de tout cela. Les gens sont tellement beaux et forts. C’est
avec cette idée en tête que j’ai commencé à travailler dans ce pays avec
les Nations Unies. Puis, j’ai rencontré mon fils ainé et nous avons
créé une famille cambodgienne. Je voulais avoir ce petit espace pour
lui, mais je voulais aussi aider le pays d’une certaine façon.
Nous
avons donc commencé à travailler et nous avons vite réalisé que nous
devions protéger la nature. En effet, il y a beaucoup d’exploitation
forestière illégale, de déminage pour trouver des pierres précieuses et
de braconnage. Depuis, nous travaillons pour protéger cette zone. Tout
est géré sur place par des Cambodgiens. Nous avons 10 écoles et
2 cliniques. Beaucoup de braconniers sont devenus des gardes forestiers.
Nous formons tous une famille et nous travaillons très bien ensemble.
Lorsque
GUERLAIN est arrivé, ils m’ont dit qu’ils connaissaient les abeilles et
qu’ils pouvaient m’aider. Ils ont passé du temps avec les gens du pays
et ils ont travaillé avec eux. Ils sont partis à leur rencontre et ont
appris à leurs côtés. Puis, ils sont allés encore plus loin en envoyant
au Cambodge un ethnobotaniste pour voir ce que nous pouvions réellement
faire avec ces soixante milliers d’hectares. D’ailleurs, je suis en
train de découvrir ce métier merveilleux !
VOUS ÊTES L’EXEMPLE MÊME DE LA FEMME LIBRE ET EMANCIPÉE, SENTEZ-VOUS UNE VÉRITABLE ÉVOLUTION DEPUIS LE MOUVEMENT « ME TOO » ?
Lorsque
l’on parle d’émancipation ou de progrès, je pense qu’il n’y aura aucun
progrès tant que certaines lois n’auront pas changé et tant que
certaines choses ne seront pas mises en place pour que les femmes se
sentent vraiment en sécurité et capables de progresser. Nous sommes bien
loin de ces avancées.
Nous
n’en parlons à mon avis pas assez souvent, mais il ne s’agit pas
uniquement du droit d’aller à l’école, qui n’aurait jamais dû être
retiré, du droit d’être en sécurité chez soi, du droit de ne pas être
blessée ou du droit d’être libre. Mais, il s’agit aussi du droit d’être
une femme. On demande aux femmes d’être robustes, d’élever leurs
enfants, d’avoir une super carrière, de tout faire en même temps. Ce que
nous voulons réellement, c’est être nous-mêmes sans aucune pression.
ANGELINA, UNE QUESTION UN PEU PLUS PERSONNELLE : QUELLES SONT LES VALEURS QUE VOUS VOULEZ TRANSMETTRE À VOS ENFANTS ?
La gentillesse et l’humilité ! J’ai
découvert qu’en grandissant, mes enfants sont forts, ouverts et très
gentils. Et j’essaie de montrer l’exemple en étant aussi gentille,
gracieuse, aimante et tolérante que ma mère l’était. Mais quand il y a
un combat à mener, qu’il faut agir, alors je leur donne la force de le
faire. Je pense donc qu’il faut connaître ses droits et libertés tout en
ayant conscience des choses que la vie vous a offertes, et vous assurer
que vous ne restez pas les bras croisés, mais que vous aidez les autres
à protéger leurs propres libertés. J’espère donc que qu’ils auront
cette envie de combattre en eux.
Une
autre valeur très importante à mes yeux : être humble et de toujours se
souvenir de sa place dans le monde. Nous ne vivrons pas éternellement.
Il faut rester humble et reconnaissant.
QU’AVEZ-VOUS APPRIS SUR VOUS, TOUT AU LONG DE CES ANNÉES ?
J’ai
découvert que j’avais plus de combativité en moi que je ne le pensais.
Et je suis plus résiliente que je ne le croyais aussi. Au fond de moi,
je suis douce et vulnérable mais en même temps, je suis très forte. Je
veux qu’on me permette d’être douce sans que l’on me fasse du mal, sans
me sentir privée de soutien. Je pense que toutes
les femmes ont différentes facettes dans leur personnalité. Une femme
peut être à la fois douce et farouche !
SI VOUS DEVIEZ RÉSUMER VOTRE VIE EN UN SEUL MOT ?
Liberté ! Parce
que sans la liberté vous n’avez rien. Liberté de circulation, liberté
de pensée, liberté de faire. Je suis consciente que j’ai certainement
beaucoup plus de libertés que la plupart des gens. Je suis donc très
reconnaissante pour ces libertés, mais je suis sûre qu’il y a toujours
plus à faire, nous avons encore beaucoup de chemin à parcourir dans le domaine. Beaucoup de femmes dans le monde n’ont pas tout cela.
Chaque
femme devrait être libre d’être celle qu’elle a envie d’être : douce,
farouche, ouverte, sexy…libre tout simplement d’être qui elle veut,
quand elle veut sans être considéré comme agressive ou anti-hommes !SI VOS ENFANTS DEVAIENT VOUS RÉSUMER EN UN SEUL MOT, QUE DIRAIENT-ILS ?

I was more than honored and happy to be here to represent France. And how to say, BEAUTYLICIEUSE + ANGELINA JOLIE = it could only give an EXCLUSIVE LADY BOSS.
Values, women and inspiration ... these are the words that come to mind immediately to define this moment with this extra woman and a crazy humility! I do not tell you more and wish you a good reading 🙂
HELLO ANGELINA, YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN MUSE FOR A BRAND OF COSMETICS, WHY HAVE YOU CHOSEN GUERLAIN?
In my opinion, I must believe in a product to put it forward. I really believe in this product, and I love working with this House. When we started our collaboration, we discussed the fact that many advertisements, especially in the perfume, often presented a fantasized, unreal life. We decided to propose something more true. The first advertisement was shot at home in France.
We then thought about the next step for women, something that would be important and valuable to them. I have thought about freedom, making brave choices in life, feeling good no matter where you are in your life, being comfortable with it and accepting it.
Part of what I learned about creating a perfume alongside GUERLAIN and especially Thierry Wasser (cf: exclusive nose of the Maison Guerlain) lies in the exploration of other countries and cultures. I understood that the perfume is not artificial. When I was young, I smelled a perfume and I did not know where it came from. I thought it was just something sold in a bottle. In reality, it involves so many things.
WHAT ARE YOUR COMMON VALUES WITH GUERLAIN?
I am so grateful and so excited to work with GUERLAIN. We want to change the world in a certain way and protect the earth. There is no pretension to say that and this undeniably passes through biodiversity.
In addition, my mother has always been linked to GUERLAIN. She never wore makeup and did not really take care of herself. The only powder she had was GUERLAIN's Ladies In All Climates, she only put it on very special occasions. I always thought it was a wonderful powder straight from Paris that made her feel like a lady. These are very good memories.
YOU ARE VERY ATTACHED TO CAMBODIA, CAN YOU TELL ME MORE?
Personally, I finally have a house in Cambodia - which was a dream and I am proud to have Cambodian citizenship. For 17 years, I worked there with a foundation, but only recently I built my house. The GUERLAIN teams, benevolent, came on site and we explored this feeling of femininity and freedom (see: the second commercial that will be available in September).
We spent a lot of time talking about GUERLAIN's philosophy and biodiversity. There, I work with many farmers and I am interested in environmental protection and job creation. So we also exchanged on these topics.
When I first went to Cambodia about 18 years ago, I went to the place where the film was shot. This country has gone through so much, and it's still trying to recover from it all. People are so beautiful and strong. It is with this idea in mind that I started working in this country with the United Nations. Then, I met my eldest son and we created a Cambodian family. I wanted to have this little space for him, but I also wanted to help the country in a certain way.
So we started working and we quickly realized that we needed to protect nature. Indeed, there is a lot of illegal logging, demining to find gems and poaching. Since then, we have been working to protect this area. Everything is managed on site by Cambodians. We have 10 schools and 2 clinics. Many poachers have become rangers. We are all family members and we work very well together.
When GUERLAIN arrived, they told me they knew the bees and could help me. They spent time with the locals and they worked with them. They went to meet them and learned by their side. Then, they went even further by sending an ethnobotanist to Cambodia to see what we could really do with these sixty thousand hectares. Besides, I'm discovering this wonderful job!
YOU ARE THE SAME EXAMPLE OF FREE AND EMANCIPATED WOMAN, DO YOU FEEL A TRUE EVOLUTION SINCE THE "ME TOO" MOVEMENT?
When it comes to emancipation or progress, I think there will be no progress until some of the laws have changed and until some things are put in place to make women feel really comfortable. safe and able to progress. We are far from these advances.
We do not talk about it often enough, but it's not just about the right to go to school, which should never have been removed, the right to be safe at home, right not to be hurt or the right to be free. But it's also about the right to be a woman. Women are asked to be strong, to raise their children, to have a great career, to do everything at the same time. What we really want is to be ourselves without any pressure.
ANGELINA, A QUESTION A LITTLE MORE PERSONAL: WHAT ARE THE VALUES YOU WANT TO TRANSMIT TO YOUR CHILDREN?
Kindness and humility! I discovered that growing up, my children are strong, open and very kind. And I try to set an example by being as kind, graceful, loving and tolerant as my mother was. But when there is a fight to be fought, something must be done, so I give them the strength to do it. So I think you have to know your rights and freedoms while being aware of the things that life has offered you, and make sure that you do not sit idly by, but that you help others protect their own freedoms. So I hope that they will have this desire to fight in them.
Another value that is very important to me: being humble and always remembering one's place in the world. We will not live forever. We must remain humble and grateful.
WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED ABOUT YOURSELF THROUGHOUT THESE YEARS?
I discovered that I had more fighting spirit in me than I thought. And I'm more resilient than I thought. At the bottom of me, I am soft and vulnerable but at the same time, I am very strong. I want to be allowed to be gentle without being hurt, without feeling deprived of support. I think that all women have different facets in their personality. A woman can be both sweet and fierce!
IF YOU HAVE TO SUMMARIZE YOUR LIFE IN ONE WORD?
Freedom ! Because without freedom you have nothing. Freedom of movement, freedom of thought, freedom to do. I am aware that I certainly have a lot more freedom than most people. I am therefore very grateful for these freedoms, but I am sure there is always more to do, we still have a long way to go in the field. Many women in the world do not have all this.
Every woman should be free to be the one she wants to be: sweet, fierce, open, sexy ... just free to be who she wants, when she wants without being considered aggressive or anti-men!
