She will join us at Lincoln Center on Friday, April 24th
After three invigorating days filled with stories of firebrand
activists, self-sacrificing trailblazers, heartbreaking endurance, and
solutions from women in the halls of power, Angelina Jolie Pitt will
bring the Sixth Annual Women in the World Summit to a triumphant end.
Jolie Pitt will speak about the refugee crisis in Syria, Iraq and bordering nations, and what she has seen firsthand as Special Envoy of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. She focus on the burden that women bear in conflicts.
Appointed a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador in 2001, and UNHCR Special Envoy in 2012, Jolie Pitt has carried out more than 40 field missions to some of the most remote regions of the world to highlight the plight of millions of uprooted people and to advocate for their protection. She is also co-Founder of a The Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict Initiative.
