At both the private Maleficent exhibition at Kensington Palace on Thursday, May 8, and a day-after photo call, the movie's villainous star wore similar versions of the same shoe—a sky-high pump with a heel that resembled Maleficent's horns. For Friday's event, the tip was dripping in blood-red.
Turns out, the Maleficent-themed shoes are a custom look for Jolie, 38, created by Christian Louboutin. "It's exciting to work with a film that has such a strong aesthetic and a character as great as Maleficent," Louboutin tells Us Weekly. "I've been under the charm and spell of Angelina and her character."
The famed, celeb-loved designer made the eye-catching nearly five-inch heels in multiple colors. Jolie has already worn the white and black, and we can expect to see red and gold versions on future red carpets as well.
