Was it a hard pose? Definitely. And she was OK with making it obvious that it was. She could have masked the effort and made it look natural but she WANTED it to be obvious. She paused for a second on stage while she giggled at the response she was deliberately provoking. It was tongue-in-cheek much like JLo's and Cam Diaz's pose earlier.
What do non-gossip sites think? As you can gather from what I've posted, mostly they think she livened up an otherwise dull show and that some in the internet were blowing it way out of proportion.
Was she surprised that her pose/leg went viral and spawned various memes? She may not know what a meme is but given the way the world scrutinizes everything they do and makes a big deal about even minor things, she would not be surprised that the internet became obsessed with it. She knew she was showing the world a side of her they had not seen in a long time and that it would create a firestorm.
Does she mind that people are mimicking and photobombing her pose? Not at all. She thought Jim Rash mimicking her on stage was funny. The photobombing is all in good fun as are the imitation poses. I am sure she would find them hilarious if she ever got around to see them. She may have even been prepared for worse since she was on full femme fatale mode.
Did Brad know? Of course. They posed together on the Red Carpet and she worked it immediately. She would have cleared it with him beforehand as it IS a provocative pose. In addition, he was with her backstage before and after she presented.
His parents were with them so they too had to know and were fine with it. I might even venture that it was one of the reasons they showed up, since the last time was also to support her for Blood & Honey's premiere.
Why? We may know soon enough since Charlie Rose is moderating a panel with her for the Women in the World meeting.
My guess is it was her way of of lightening up and shedding her serious face for a few hours after all the heaviness and emotional stress associated with Blood & Honey.
She was showing a bit of the old carefree Angelina who didn't care at all what people thought. As she said in a red carpet interview, the night was about having fun. She had been asked repeatedly if she missed being a bad girl and this, in a way, was her answer.
Finally, a comment on Angelina's skinny appearance.
Angelina is known to love hamburgers, cheese and chocolates and seems to be game to eat almost anything. She has said that she's always been skinny but she's also obviously someone whose appetite can be affected by emotional stress. She lost weight during the months before and after her Mom passed away and probably lost a few over the last few months worrying about her film. All that is behind her now though and I expect she will soon regain whatever she lost.
Angelina Jolie 'Vogue Turkey' Cover Is Missing A Right Leg (PHOTOS, POLL)
The Huffington Post Ellie Krupnick First Posted: 02/28/2012 3:32 pm Updated: 02/28/2012 4:43 pmAs opposed to that other famous (former) Brad Pitt flame, Angelina Jolie rarely graces magazine covers. She occasionally throws Vanity Fair or W a bone, but most mags have to go without Hollywood's biggest female star (or just download file photos and slap cover lines on them, a la Harper's Bazaar).
So we were surprised to see Angie on the March 2012 cover of Vogue Turkey. After all, it's Vogue (albeit an international edition)! And she actually posed for Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott for the cover shoot!
We should be totally psyched. Instead, we're pretty disappointed. We're a fan of black and white photos, but not necessarily for covers. Plus this photo is an extreme closeup, omitting Angelina's best feature: her right leg.
After it made a splashy appearance on the 2012 Oscars red carpet, Angelina's right leg has surpassed Jolie herself in popularity (Angelina's not even on Twitter, while her leg has 33,543 Twitter followers).
Alas, for one of her rare cover appearances, Jolie decided to keep things simple, focused and legless.
