Late October Projects Update

It appears Angelina may have a film starting production very soon but we'll probably have to wait until she starts talking to the press about Blood & Honey to find out which one it is.  It may not even be a film we have listed as there is nothing below that can really be described as an "action sci-fi set in the future."  Maleficent is the only one that comes close but its a stretch to categorize a fairy tale as sci-fi.

The Tiger is a new and rather surprising addition to her list given that the book doesn't really have a female lead.  They'll probably make it such that the script is inspired by, rather than strictly based on, the book.  Brad has said repeatedly that they should be working together and it looks like they may have finally found a vehicle.  When Josh Horowitz asked Angelina a year ago about early rumors that they would star in it she didn't deny it.  She just said rather vaguely that she didn't know much about it but that  she loved Aronofsky.  Aronofsky will no longer be directing but he will produce through his Protozoa Pictures along with Brad's Plan B.

The Tiger is about as far from M&M Smith as one can imagine.  A true story set in the Russian wilderness, its about an epic clash pitting settlers, a trapper and a conservationist against an unusually smart and motivated Amur tiger.  Perhaps Brad and Angelina made a conscious effort to find something that could not be compared to Smith, but I can also imagine that the story, dealing as it does with conservation and protection of wildlife, would be one that would appeal to them.

The other change of note is that The Grid now quotes agency sources as saying that Cleopatra is ODA -- which could either mean that David Fincher is delaying signing or that he may have passed.   Again, Angelina will probably be asked about it so we should be getting a clearer picture soon.
