Gabriel Yared Scoring Angelina Jolie’s ‘In the Land of Blood and Honey’

Gabriel Yared is writing the score for the upcoming drama In the Land of Blood and Honey. The film marks the directorial debut of Angelina Jolie who also wrote the screenplay for the project. The movie starring Rade Serbedzija, Nikola Djuricko and Goran Kostic is set during the bloody civil war in the former-Yugoslavia in the early ’90s and tells the love story between a Serbian man and Bosnian woman who meet on the eve of the war and the effect the crisis has on their relationship. The movie will reportedly also feature additional music by Dado Dzihan (Dado Jehan) as Waves and Patterns. The project is produced by GK Films (The Tourist, The Town). FilmDistrict has picked up domestic rights and will be releasing the film on December 23, 2011 in time for Awards consideration.
