The premiere is in L.A. and Brad is also in L.A. so he is expected to make an appearance.

They were perhaps a tad overly optimistic that the DCFS would close the investigation by Oct 20 but there is a stronger possibility that it will close by Nov. 9.   But even if it remains open, Brad would still be expected to go.

Even if the studio imposes strict rules on what questions can be asked, it would still look awkward to see him talking about the film and ignoring what everyone is really curious about.  So I think he'll bypass the interviews and just pose for photos with Marion Cotlilard.  It will still give the film the publicity boost that a premier normally generates.

Now, let's have some fun and speculate further:

Will he be wearing his wedding ring?

I would think yes, unless he threw it out of the window in a moment of pique when he thought Angelina's side had leaked the news of the abuse investigation.

Will Angelina be joining him?

She is also in L.A.

If the investigation is still open, no.

If it is closed, possible but still unlikely.

It would certainly give Allied a HUGE publicity boost if she did.  She would not only be helping Brad but also producer Graham King who backed In the Land of Blood and Honey .  He gave her her first break as a director on a film they all knew wouldn't make money.

The info they recently released via TMZ (the visit with Maddox was a "turning point" and there would be no response or default judgement on the divorce petition and the "whole divorce case" could "settle") were clearly designed to prepare the public to expect a big positive development that they were eager for and eager to share with the public.   They thought it would happen on or shortly after Oct. 20.

Brad may (understandably) resent the involvement of the DCFS -- recall his statement:
(he) "has been absolutely devastated and heartbroken by the events of the past several weeks, both in terms of how those events have been wrongfully portrayed and how they have threatened to jeopardize his family’s ability to heal and move forward.”
The DCFS investigation forced Angelina to file and is keeping them apart.

By now, Angelina must be just as eager as he is for everything to close.  TMZ: "Angelina was cooperative but her endgame is for the whole thing to just go away."  And this was before they even learned that the DCFS was expanding the investigation.

The whole family has had weeks of therapy and counseling and I expect that a truly contrite and reformed Brad should not have much trouble winning back the trust of his children.  After all, Angelina had gushed that he was a "great" father, and if he was "great" for 11 years and not so great for a few months, the memories from those 11 years should help the children forgive the last few months.  Maddox especially would have the most memories.

So it they are free to do so, they would be ready and eager to share with the world that their family is back together and the bond between them stronger than ever after weathering this crisis.

But Angelina may decide to save their first joint appearance for First They Killed My Father -- which is still penciled in as a 2016 release.  That film means more to their family and certainly could use the publicity boost more than Allied.

  1. When Brad promoted "FURY" and "The Big Short", if I'm not mistaken Angelina did not go to any premiere.
If Brad is with or without alliance will generate a lot of speculation.
If the investigation with DCFs is still open I think he will not, if there is already closed and things are adjusting I think he goes with the alliance. He may hang in a necklace .... lol

  2. I didn't think they would have a premiere for FTKMF since it's a Netflix movie but seeing how Maddox helped with the film and it took place in his home country I can see why they would have one. It would be a great way to show that father and son have patched things up or working towards that but also the parents have made amends. Divorcing or not it would be a good way to show family unity.

  3. If this whole plane incident didn't happen, i feel like this would've been there red carpet comeback together since last year with 'By the sea'. Sure, Angie doesn't go to all of Brad's movie premiere especially the small ones, but this film looks like it's a big one or at least they want it to be big hence the China promotion. So, a little Angie on the side wouldn't hurt.

I agree that everything about Brad's appearance is going to be heavily scrutinized. From the way he poses, his mood and reaction. Will he answer screened questions? Or will he just dodged it and pose for photos? Will he bring anybody with him? His parents? Either way, it's going to be awkward for him but he needs to suck it up and do it. It's part of his signed contract. I am kind of nervous to see how he is going to handle his first public appearance. As much as i want Angie to show up at the after party, I don't think she's going.
