Angelina Jolie was at her candid best during a recent interview and spoke about the value of humor in life, her recent movie “Kung Fu Panda 3,” her kids and costar, Jack Black.
In a candid talk, the “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” star revealed to Morgan Radford on the “Today” show that it is perhaps time for her to ease out, let go off battles and infuse some humor in her life. The three-time Golden Globe award winner, also cited as the highest paid Hollywood actress, spoke about matters close to her heart.
Commenting on the role played by her four kids in “Kung Fu Panda 3,” Jolie said, “[It] was so much fun. I think what was so sweet about it was that they took it very seriously. They came in and said, ‘I don’t know if I could do this. I’m not sure if I can do this.’ And to talk them through it — it was simple little things — but they really took it seriously as a job and getting it right and not doing a bad job.”
Angelina Jolie spoke about her role of Master Tigress in the movie and said it is a role very close to her heart. She said that the message in the film is about acceptance, patience and tolerance in life, and will appeal to the masses.
She also spoke about how working with costar Jack Black was a stress buster of sorts. Jolie explained that lending her voice to a character in the film gave her the freedom she so wanted. She could be simple and go to work even in her PJ.
To a question if her children would pursue acting for a living, she said, “I hope not! We’ve always said if they’re going to be actors I hope they do something [else first] and then be actors.”
The premiere of “Kung Fu Panda 3” was more like having a party with family as the kids of the actors joined in.
Apart from Angelina Jolie and her four children, the movie also has Dustin Hoffman, Seth Rogen, Jack Black, James Hong, Bryan Cranston, Kate Hudson, Lucy Liu, J.K Simmons, Jackie Chan, and David Cross.
