UN source: Greek military taking over #Idomeni camp tmrw, evacuation possible; also says Tsipras told Angelina Jolie not to visit the camp— Simon Shuster (@shustry) March 17, 2016
According to the UNHCR, Miss Jolie is visiting Greece 'to reinforce efforts by UNHCR and the Greek government to step up the emergency response to the deteriorating humanitarian situation'.
While on Lesbos, she assured migrant children that the UNHCR were working hard to ensure children would have a safe trip to their destinations.
She also promised the local authorities that she would return to the island with her husband and children Maddox, Zaharah, Shiloh, Pax, Knox and Vivienne, in the summer.
It is believed Miss Jolie's trip to Greece was also going to include a trip to the Idomeni camp on the Macedonian border, where thousands of migrants are trapped after the Balkans country closed their border.
